Parsec Aero Pro ....

So, if you’re not already aware, I’m one of the first people to have a parsec in the wild, and I’m riding it for esk8con this year :sweat_smile: I can safely say, it lives up to the hype and then some.

Quick and dirty review as im still racing here at esk8con and its been a hectic couple of days. I’ll start with the disclaimer
my board is not a production spec parsec aero pro X. It has a higher current ESC, higher kv motors, and i’ve been messing with wheels and gearing a ton

In summary? This board wins in categories it shouldnt, and fills a role that no other board does.

The fit and finish? Amazing. Torx hardware everywhere, really clean and precise machining, the deck is pristine and well designed, and the implementation of the power button and charge ports in the plates is a really clean one.

As for how it rides? 90A tall bushings all around are incredibly carvy, leans super easily. However, its still able to push speeds without feeling twitchy or unstable - which is insane to me considering this thing is on symetrical 45 degree plates front and rear. The board turns on a dime and the steering response is incredibly smooth, nearly linear feeling throughout the range, and the shorter standing platform makes it incredibly nimble. Personally, ive taken mine to the high 30s if not low 40s during some rides, and ive never felt even the tiniest bit of instability. Despite having the maneuverability of most DKP boards, its as stable as an ownboard zeus pro with those insanely low split angle TKPs.

Performance wise, i cant talk too much as to power, top speed, or torque as mine is quite different from the production spec as mentioned earlier. I’ve been told the production spec should be something like 70% as much power as the one I’m racing here at esk8con, so take everything i say with that in mind. The board is impressively capable for its size, and while its certainly not throwing me off the back end like dedicated raceboards, it never feels like its struggling. I was regularly keeping up with and even passing people on boards twice the size on group rides. Despite being setup for a top end of 45mph, it still pulls quite hard from a dig, and the power never really fell off of a cliff past 5mph like the production boards i had ridden from a few years back. I did the red rock canyon ride, and the board was able to hold a consistent 30-35mph without struggling. Oh, and the rolling resistance of the drivetrain? Legitimately nearly zero. It was so smooth and easy to roll that i was having to ride the brakes down ALL hills to not smack into the guy infront of me. It actually feels like an analog longboard, and you can push it like one without taking the belts off. Crazy.

In terms of range? It obviously depends HEAVILY on wheel choice. I’ve so far done rides on the Otang 80A dadbods, the meepo/acedeck 110s, and meepo cyclones. With the dadbods, doing a red rock canyon ride, i held 30-35mph for 13.1 miles and ended with about half battery - so i would say you can expect roughly 25-30 miles depending on how you ride. With the meepo/acedeck wheels, i did about 8 miles on a group ride in the city, mixed speeds with 60% of the battery left, so i would say you can probably expect 25 miles or so of range. With the meepo cyclones, i did a 20 mile group ride and was being towed for the last mile as some of yall there saw :sweat_smile:. I’m overall very impressed with the range given the size and weight of the board.

So yeah. It’s a board that fills a niche no other board does. Its lighter than a street board, has the performance of a 2in1, has the stability of an urban cruiser, but the agility of a mini board. That combination? Genuinely has sold me on the parsec design principles.

I’ve been waiting for this post and this category for a long time if I had the funds I’d pull the trigger now a lightweight commuter that dosent struggle sounds perfect.

Not to derail the thread too much, but would love your opinion on the Meepo 115s wheels! Welcome another non-pneumatic but comfortable and grippy street wheel option.

Damn they should run this version for more advanced riders. Parsec Aero Utra or something. Higher KV motors and all that like you have been testing.
Now i want one as a easy cruising commuter!

They’re insanely grippy. Like, similar if not more grip than a broken in set of onsra 115s. However, the compound is definitely faster wearing (i pretty much turned my set into slicks within 15 miles of hard racing the parsec around the esk8con track, probably less of a concern if you’re just commuting as i was definitely sliding the things alot lol). Additionally, the comfort is not as good as cyclone 110s (but the range is better as a result). I think i could get 25 miles on the parsec with them judging from my experience on a group ride.

I can confirm, it was VERY good marketing for the lazyrolling jacket. Not a single scrape or bruise to anything besides my knees, which were the one part i didnt cover with pads.
