I believe [Kevlar is to Aramid] as [Bandaid is to Bandages] and [Kleenex is to tissue]. It’s just a marketing brand. While I won’t deny that LR materials are stylish, probably softer, and have tighter tolerances(for pads), there’s still no doubting it’s expensive and there are cheaper options available.

Kevlar and aramid are not the same thing.

They’re not made the same, they don’t have the same tensile strength, they don’t have the same weight they don’t have the same compounds and they don’t have the same rigidness.
