The mbs 8inch knobbies don’t last long on the road. There’s ones on aliexpress with the same tread but made with a much harder and more durable compound.

Mbs 9 inch knobbies are great… but the 8s just don’t seem to be the same.

MBS T1 T3 and roadie tires wear down super fast for me. Instead of those I prefer the “Clever” brand 200x50 from aliexpress. The new 200x70 looks intriguing though.

Do you happen to know that Aliexpress brand?

Clever

Another option, I’ve had good luck with the 230 version of these. Don’t see why the 200 would be any different.

8" L Fasters

Amazon.com: L-faster 200x50 Off-Road Tire and Tube 8 Inch Mountain Tyre and Air Tube for Mountain Scooter and Mountain Skateboard Pneumatic Whee (Inner Tube+Outer tire) : Sports & Outdoors

I keep shredding those L-faster nylons. I wonder if they differ between batches.

Could be. I haven’t used the 8" though. Usually riding a little under 20 psi. They last as long as anything I’ve gotten from Trampa.

I’m riding at 40psi so that might be why

Yeah try airing down for off road. It probably makes the tread wear a little quicker but I doubt you’ll shred tires. Big comfort increase too.

More control? I’m sliding around on higher pressure but I’m learning to control it that way, I transition between road and off-road pretty frequently, like every few km. Is it really worth stopping to air up and down all 4 wheels whenever I transition?

Also this is becoming a huge derail sorry @Dnollie for hijacking your thread

Yeah to more control. I just stay aired down but not riding asphalt too often.

Seems like we’re on topic since he’s deciding what to get but happy to discuss in private if it’s not helpful. We’re definitely more on topic than some other threads I’ve seen…

I’m having trouble with my board right now. A couple things are going on. First, when I initially aligned the motor mounts on the trucks, it was very off. I haven’t changed it yet, one side is fine, but on the other side, half the belt is off the pulley, so far I don’t think it is a major issue but I can’t realign the motor mounts because on of the 2 hex set screws in one of the motor mounts is stripped. Doesn’t seem to affect riding but it would be nice to have everything be the same. Second problem, yesterday, I turned off the board. Turned it back on, but remote wouldn’t connect. I double checked all wires to make sure there was proper contact and it was good. The remote just won’t pair with the Vesc :triumph: not sure what the problem is, remote receiver still beeps blue. Remote just doesn’t have that WiFi looking symbol at the top of the display that it usually does. (vx4 still).

If you have a set of torx bits you might be able to get the one that’s barely too big to fit and tap it in. An extractor would be better but the torx trick has always worked for me.

Last time you had trouble pairing the VX4 you were going out of order with the process. In case you forgot, ESC needs to be off, put remote in pairing mode then power the ESC on.

Of course it worked :rofl::rofl::rofl:

For some reason my buddy running a Ubox V2 has to repair all the time. I’ve never had to do it. Not sure if it’s ESC specific or what but easy enough to do.

I literally have a set of “trash torx” bits just for this purpose lol.

Torx are just stripped hex removers.
