Gear drives give you a whole new level of confidence in your drivetrain. No chance of skipping teeth, strong and smooth acceleration, and most of all, a completely sealed area that dirt and pebbles cannot get into.
I think the main thing is that nothing can break a belt. I’m sorry to say, if you haven’t broken a belt offroading yet, you aren’t going at it hard enough lol or you’ve got nice offroad trails. Gravel will do it easily too
Also, sand or dirt can break a belt in 0.5 seconds if too much gets in in there, I’ve done it.
Yah, I’m pretty lucky in the area that I live. Clean roads and off-road trails that are kept in top condition. Another reason that I have stuck to belt is because I can 3d print wheel gears in CF and Nylon so I can swap gear ratios with ease. How much maintenance are gear drives? I just hit 2500 miles on a set of 3d printed wheel gears without as much as using compressed air to clean them.

You can switch out the connectors from the esc itself to the motor ones. Or create a conversion from one bullet connectors to another. You can also apply heat shrink if they seem to slip out.
