Noob question thread! 2020_Summer

I’m still trying to understand wth is 9.0wh on that. It’s so dumb…

their cell? they probably do, in a very specific way of discharging and in perfect condition, and tested on few hundreds cells to get the best number in that sample pool

That’s a 2500mAh cell (if 3.6V nominal voltage) if that helps at all. It can’t indicate performance though since Wh specs typically use the nominal capacity which is measured at less than 1A.

Yes, this is right since the main pack is 7.5ah, which is a 3p pack of 2500mah cells (10s). What’s killing me is the lack of info on discharge from a single cell. If they could had added that info, it would help a lot instead of playing Russian roulette and seeing if the BMS shuts it off at a certain current.

is there any way to test the limit without having to use the board in real world scenarios? you wouldnt want a number slightly too high and end up with a shut down on the road

I’m using a washer big enough to cover the outer races.

u can hook it up to something that can drain at high amps, and see at which cont. current the bms doesn’t shut off at all, then maybe back it down a little.

where would i find such a machine capable of such work

Oops, my bad…I missed seeing that.

Agreed!

And that’s the dilemma. You have to disassemble the cell and check it’s discharge rating, which is annoying to do. Especially when you don’t have the tools to reassemble.

How to connect spintend via ppm flipsky vx1? I think the wiring is correct, unsure how to change port in vesc

App_Settings > General > APP to Use

If you are using Bluetooth wireless, make sure you select “PPM and UART” or you will lock yourself out of the ESC. If not using bluetooth you can select “PPM” which means PWM in there.

Still no dice. Remote connected but no control

You then need to turn it on by

App_Settings>PPM>General>Control_Type and set that to “Current Hyst Reverse With Brake” or something…

Make sure you did all your motor detections and set your battery current max

Make sure when you turn off the remote, the board is in neutral without throttle or brake!

Quick question, anyone knows where I can get an OBD motor mount that can fit trampa trucks? Theirs do not fit the motors I have. And I’m getting tired of the constant rattling it gives out because of it.

Yooo lol, I found the guy’s car. He actually lives where I do. Oh what a beautiful discovery. I left trash on his car as a “thank you”.

Edit: apparently I made it a mondern art. People taking photos of it lol.

You should stalk him, and throw a water bottle at his head when he goes to get in his car.

That’s not very christian of you, can’t say I approve of your lifestyle

Hey guys! Got a couple questions. Is the Trampa Wand compatible with the Unity? I can’t seem to get it to work. The TX and RX are in the right spots and I’ve tried both 5V and 3.3V and I get nothing. If it’s not compatible are there any replacements that you would recommend? Also (unrelated), do I need to split the Max Current settings in half even if its a single ESC? Thanks

So I’m trying to convert board to RKP. My issue now is that in order for the motors to not interfere with the trucks I have to put them so low. They are only a cm off the ground. I feel like they are going to get bashed up down there.
Anyone got ideas?
