i didn’t run into any heat issue besides it tried to kill my friend by sudden acceleration, and my friend bail instantly, fucked his knee.
got an electric drill thingy? clamp the shaft to it, and see if there is any wobble?

teeny bit more spesific? maybe you got a video explaining
That sucks. Mine overheated. I guess I was fortunate to not have that one. But I’m glad I got a hobbywing to replace the esc. More reliable tbh.
Edit:
I forgot I still have it.
I think he means do you have a drill that clamps? Like a hammer drill or one of those drills that can hold different size of drill bits. Like this guy:
yeah got a hammer drill
i should jsut clamp the shaft and see if it spins straight or wobbles?
Correct.

u got the motor can off right? stick the shaft in an electric drill, tighten it a bit so it won’t go flying when u power it on, put the drill in weakest mode, then see which part wobbles when the motor can is spinning. got no video showing it tho
Ten times better than lingyi, I should dig mine out and put it up for my upcoming sales thread Lol
E: holy fk, u two are fast
yep
understand now and will do
Lol
leave a tab open at all times and i get notifications straight away
I was only here to ask about my hoyt that randomly disconnected me after an accidental drop. Does this mean there’s an issue with it? It didn’t happen again after turning off and back on, but I would like to be careful with it.
I don’t do notification for chrome, or else my phone will get too many of them and chrome will stop responding
Open it up and check the little jst connector, usually its pretty solid, but a drop can do a lot of things
That’s exactly what I checked too. I’m gonna make sure it’s not loose. Right now it looks crispy good.
That chart is handy but maybe not useful here because as best I can tell it assumes a longer length and a specific acceptable voltage drop. Small wire has a higher resistance per unit length so in the same way you’d be safe to drive after a droplet of vodka, the resistance of a small wire can be fine if the run is very short (like 5 inches)
With that said it looks like 5A dissipates half a Watt even at 2x5" so I’d recommend a good bit bigger. 18AWG cuts it down by a factor of 4~5 and still isn’t really big and cumbersome
Mine dropped and slide 5m on the ground and still works, im sure urs should still be good
I’m surprised after taking 3 hard spills and an accident drop it still works. Totally worth the investment. It was unfortunate on the spills though.
the can doesnt seem to wobble at all
i noticed some metal shavings in it (prob from when the shaft was cut) could that be causing the issue
Possibly. See if you can make sure that is the only issue you have. You don’t want to repeat steps again.
yeah not sure what other issue could be
other then metal shavings the can looks fine
possibly the issue is on the stator side (not sure what im looking for though)
how can i clean out the motor can
That one I’ll leave to someone who does it. I just got into the drive world after leaving the hub life. Only been a year for me so I have no clues.
