I think i’m lucky i don’t have traumas with grammarly. I was neck deep in adblockers right before the adpocalypse, but these raid shadow legends keep seeping in theough the cracks…
Answered my own question… it loses turning radius.
ah, gotcha.
im reassembling my drivetrain rn as I have a new deck. Does anyone have any specific info about this enclosure? eboosted doesnt have dimensions or anything but the battery @Skyart sold me is apparently made for this thing. Anyways, does anyone have this enclosure or have the dimensions?
We include a kickstart card. Perhaps we’ll just include a note to check our YouTube instructional vids.
My deck has some slight curvature, how do I compensate for the curvature on the edge with an enclosure? I’m looking to buy one, but they all seem flat. Has to be ~40+mm tall, and 145mm wide.
A good enclosure is designed for a specific deck, and is fitted to the curvature of that deck. An off-the shelf or “universal” enclosure might not have that curvature, especially if you are buying a cheap piece of shit plastic enclosure off amazon lol. Check out @BigBen and @eBoosted for good enclosures.
If you are buying a cheap POS plastic enclosure, then you can do maybe two things to compensate for the curvature.
-
Thicc gasket. I like closed-cell neoprene sheets. 0.5" (13mm) is usually think enough, but this depends on how much gap you need to make up for.
-
Heat gun the flanges of the plastic enclosure to soften it, and then mold it to the deck. This is risky, and easy to fuck up. Go slow and be careful.
If I could expand on this, and everything he said is spot on —
If you’re going to cheap out on anything make sure it’s not the enclosure or battery. Those are the two most important things. Period.
Yeah for sure. @Evwan the one thing I forgot to mention about those cheap plastic POS enclosures is that they will crack and break under a strong breeze, or when mercury is in retrograde.
Yeah, cracking around the boltholes is all but guaranteed on ABS.
I now view ABS enclosures mostly as a consumable fiberglass mold. So like, after you lay fiberglass around them, you have a soft ABS cushion inside of it.
I can’t in good conscience recommend anyone to use ABS enclosures.
hehehe
I’ll show myself out
I seconded this. Especially after using one that isn’t quality material. I decided to just go with fiberglass and make my own.
My understanding is that the squeak happens when the ESC loses track of the rotor position and just keeps commutating, assuming that it still is in sync.
Basically that means that having sensors would at least partially solve it, but it hints towards possible other underlying issues with the motor or your motor detection/connection/configuration, because the ESC is getting confused and that shouldn’t be happening.
Empirically, that’s been happening very occasionally for me, for a very long time and over a large sample of firmware revisions, including the latest one, and on many different hardware versions.
I do think it might be in the HFI part of the firmware.
Are there any pulleys that fit with the 5 spoke 3.75 hubs from 3dservisas?
Having trouble finding some
I dont know all that much, but I see a button listed “CC/CV” which is the charging system that Li-Ion batteries need. So maybe?
