Noob question thread! 2020_Summer

These sound like possible symptoms of prior pairing. Connect with USB wire and unpair.

i can connect to my PC version of the app, but how do unpair from there? (its not possible to pair via bluetooth from a PC as far as i know, so how could it have prior pairing?)

this is how it looks, do i change False to True?

The “pairing” is like locking your skate from being connected to by random hacker guy’s phone. They’d need to know your ESC’s UUID in order to connect.

It’s also good if you know it, or simply never pair it. I don’t think esk8 are popular enough yet for folks to be hacking into your VESC on the subway.

It’s not paired. Leave it false. There is another problem then.

Can you record your screen inside vesc tool while you search and try to connect to the receiver?
Sometimes a restart and a good smack is all it needs to come back to normal…

What about hall sensor settings?

Sorry, I meant are you running BLDC or unsensored FOC by any chance?

Sensored FOC

Then I’m guessing a problem with one or more sensors.

Try setting up your board with no sensors and HFI. Latest vesc tool version.
