Noob question thread! 2020_Summer

Use DKP on the front and RKP on the rear.

Or use TKP on both ends, nice and loose. Like 89A bushings not cranked very tight for a 200lb (95kg) rider.

But I can only see Evolve branded DKP, was wondering if there are other options?

There is Evolve, Sidewinder, and some China brands, eLofty maybe? I forget

Ok, I guess there are only a few.
Thank you

I have actually seen a lot of DKP in the China brands.

But for a front truck with no motors, your options are wide open. Nothing wrong with either Gullwing Sidewinder II or the Evolve Supercarve which will be a lot wider at 305mm tip-to-tip

One thing I would not do is use a DKP truck for the rear end. Some folks might like it, but I don’t. At all.

I can, however, really dig a DKP on the front end.

I’ve seen quite a few DD builds with DKP trucks, like the Onsra, I guess they use the Chinese ones.
Because of the shape of my board I’m going to have to use these extension things on the front

Any idea who makes them? This pic was taken from someone who DIY’d them, but there must be something similar already existing

So that’s actually another thing – the DKP trucks really get the wheels really far forward, almost eliminating wheelbite problems completely under most circumstances. You may not need that with DKP.

Yes, but it’s late and I forgot. Surely someone else can chime in? @pixelsilva I know that you know

Ah, I didn’t know they popped out in front so much. What’s wrong with DKP front and back? Too too carvy?

With a DKP rear end your top speed is going to be limited as most folks seem to have trouble past somewhere around 27mph (43km/h) the DKP seem to get really unstable and dangerous on the rear end. YMMV though

If you plan on not exceeding that, then DKP front and rear like Evolve is super carvy.

Waterbourne Surf Adaptors come with an extension for eboards. I have one but don’t like the look. Check out their website. I’m pretty sure you can just buy the extension.

Thank you, I’ll look. Is it accurate to say that Waterborne Surf Adapters behave very similarly to DKP trucks? I’m looking for a more interesting alternative to DKP trucks and have considered Surf Adapters.

I guess these are what you mean - https://waterborneskateboards.com/products/extender-bracket-for-electric-skateboards?variant=20649876521030 ?

Remember about DKP:

You won’t be able to use your hubs with that. (Going by the fact that you posted a hubmotor board multiple times)

Edit: just read the text again, not your board.

My board’s belt

But I’ve been seduced by DD for my next build, if I ever get the first one done

Yep that’s it. Surf adaptors ride quite different to DKP trucks in my opinion. The surf adaptors are actually more stable at high speed than DKP IMO. I do 50km/h easily on the surf adaptors. They are a different feel overall.

I’d be getting them for more agility, being able to manoeuvre through traffic, ‘turn on a dime’, and so on…theyre not bad for that, right?

Speaking of stabillity…

Do anyone here tried adjustable stabilizers?

How does it feel like?

A guy here in Aus just put one on his new build. I am definitely curious as to how it works out for him

Me too, tbh

Looks like mount tries to break the damper’s axel during turn, instead of pulling/pushing it.

…maybe he rides only forward and does not turn?
