Noob question thread! 2020_Summer

that looks like the forward mount

if that’s with the motor centered or in the furthest position from the truck 305 should be fine yes

you can also move the motor closest to the truck, measure that, and check what the calculator gives you, this is the smallest belt that will fit but I’d recommend going one size larger

300 or 305 would work

Probably is, I don’t know what I was smoking when I ordered it

What dremel bit should i pick to carve through maple and fibreglass? And at what rpm should i start? Top speed or as low as it can go?

forward mount should be using 300mm, but i guess 305 would also work, motor is always best at the middle of the range, so u can have adjustment

oof 7 days wait here we go

I’ve done this and it works, but I don’t think I would leave them connected together at end of charge as @wafflejock mentioned. Plugging a second one in for a quick boost while charging I have done and it works in my limited experience.

Yeah the video doesn’t work. If you drag an mp4 file into the composer or paste a youtube or other link it seems to work better.

Any threads with lists of must-have tools, or just solid tools in general?

Also, is this legit? I thought they were out of business?

Do you have a photo of the pieces you need to connect?

Boxes upon boxes of heatshrinks in varying sizes and colors.

I feel like we did have this thread or maybe was just a conversation in an old noobs thread or possibly on the forum which shall not be named

Can probably scroll through there and see some things that might be helpful too. On the electrical side nice to have bench power supply or otherwise current limited and voltage controllable power supply to reduce chance of frying things when testing. Little medical curved hemostat tool can be handy for getting wires held exactly where you want them while soldering (along with or alternative to “helping hands” soldering tools).

Materials wise recommend using rosin core solder the keester stuff is good but other brands can be fine as well. Also recommend silicone wire for everything it is just better to work with and doesn’t tear or melt as easy as plastic or other shielding.

Do we not talk about that forum? :eyes:

I was thinking of getting a proper power supply (with continuous current and voltage) but damnnn they cost a lot lol

Yeah helping hands would’ve been nice when i soldered my bullet connectors…

Nahhhh we DEfinitley had this thread before… augh what is it called…
