Efficiency test with data on wh/mile.
Hm that’s not a bad suggestion. I’ll do a standard route test for each.
Test for slop in the entire assembly - hold wheel locked and see how much play there is in the motor rotating.
Test for ground clearance.
Test for how well sealed they are maybe?
Test for how they hold up temperature wise? If they get particularly hot inside under load, would that be an issue for weakening the gears or degrading grease/seals?
Motor clearance? Some people are starting to run larger diameter motors, would that be an issue?
All great input!
Stats in metric
I love the design you have here; if you ever choose to make a 1:6 (or higher) ratio gear drive, let me know. Moving to 10" tires now, would love to move to 11" eventually.
Arrived. Really small drive, 3ds ecodrives for comparison. Waiting on motors but excited to get started on the build.
Yeah it’s super small and slim. Of course, the truck clamp adds a bit to that but definitely not too bad.
The price is for a set of two gear drives right?
Not a single drive? I don’t need to add two to my cart?
It’s 278 for the set of geardrives.
Free roll after 100km rides, gear greased.
I’m pretty sure that’s a response to me
I’d be willing to review them on my channel. I could put them on my Starflux. DM me if you would like to.
Here’s my latest product review of BKB’s new tires for reference. BEST ESKATE TIRE GRIP? ACEDECK ARES X1 on new 150mm BKB TIRES - YouTube
I do keep it honest so if there are issues I will mention them just a heads up. I’ve had other brands decide not to work with me because of that, which is fine of course.
Lol, no offense…Just letting all people know,
The resistance is normal when the time just assembled, but it will disappear after few rides.
Yeah, just needed to ask the question. Since it’s first time in that realm. I was pretty sure it was gonna get better with bearing break in, but the amount of resistance is jarring compared to what stuff we currently have.
Well… after watching @bboybowzer’s video… that thing is as quiet as finality… which is a bloody feat. Can’t wait to set mine up
I got mine setup tonight and did a short ride and am planning to really break it in tomorrow. The quietness of this thing is absolutely astounding. It’s way quieter than I thought it would be. For some reason I can’t figure out, the freeroll on one side is already very good but the other side is pretty darn stiff. I pulled it apart multiple times and couldn’t figure it out but Ethan did say it would be pretty stiff initially and would disappear after a few rides so I’ll see how it goes.
