Its funny like everyone was thinking
what team is he talking about?

every move he makes is an advancement towards entropy.

any number of people could be in there… with him… in his head.

Guys, this is not focussed at us, its focussed towards the chinese companies using the only other potted escs…

Potter is thinking like a salesman here guys.

Eh I don’t think so, if lingy or hobbyking wanted a vesc based esc they would engineer one themselves.

unless he can bring it down to 120 or 90 USD, or else there is no competition with hobbywing / god tier lingyi respectively

He has no r&d costs etc whatsoever, i bet in bulk they are that price, especially shitted down versions.

@Minimadness true, but if i was them i would also stick with their designs, im not a huge fan of vesc.

Hardware or software wise?

Dont get me started on the vesc interface  i think those things are too smart for me

that greedy bastard probably won’t lower to that kind of price, that basically puts him in line with those chinese crappy escs, just because its a vesc-based one, doesn’t automatically make it a good choice :joy:

for that kind of price, i would honestly take the latest hobbywing esc that has standby mode and auto motor detection

vesc tool app is just  need a rework asap

You guys are a bunch of smooth brains if vesc tool is too complicated.

What pisses me off the most is the fact that they have blatantly dangerous default settings and vedder refuses to merge some important things.

Oh and the fact that Jpoo most likely stole b264’s tool because he isn’t nearly smart enough to do it himself.

HW is love, HW is life!

Im not saying its too complicated, its just shit to find stuff in. The controllers however are too smart for my liking, i prefer less features less breakage.

So your asking for a User friendly UI

It will never happen Ben is about people lurning from open sores not been a smoth sleek end user product.

VariESC is open and available to all to use, it’s the whole ethos behind the project so I don’t think we can say Jason stole it, he’s just using it to avoid any potential legal issues with Frank and Ben. Tbh I would be doing exactly the same thing as him and next time I show the tool on camera it will be VariESC for the exact same reasons.

 this

It’s open to everyone and variESC is intentionally trademark-free and free for anyone to use or show, Jason is not excluded.

This was no accident, and is a feature, not a bug.

In the same way, Flipsky et alia could also use it if they wanted to – and/or offer the download even if needed, without feeling obligated to send a link back to the {redacted UK company name beginning with a T } mothership. As long as they followed the GPLv3 license terms, which includes making the source code available.

Those are some top quality vaporware pics if I’ve ever seen them.

Not pictured:

  • phase wires/ports?
  • power connector/port?
  • sensor/pwm/uart ports
  • screws for disassembling?

Wait a second… Why do I get the feeling that the side of the unit that is pictured in that listing is actually the bottom/mounting surface, and the top side will just be potting compound like a hobbywing?

O great, what is that chinese character on that heatsink? :joy:
