Neo Singularity

Please make the BMS configurable, allow for charge cutoff below 4.2v.

Charging to a max of 3.8v for example would be great, with balancing below that.

Ok, now I understand what it is you are doing. Some of it was lost in translation I fear.
Its an extension of the original flexi pcb battery idea with an incorporated esc/bms and traces for the bms.

Yeah, that would be very good if its configurable and capable of the kinds of amp draws necessary.

Hits me right in the lazies. Like it brother. Lets see some pics…

No need to apologise my friend. I’m sure my grasp of your language is far less than yours of mine. Didn’t mean to be a naysayer and look forward to seeing what you have in store for us.

Is ok friend. Is not easy knowing new thing. Sometime not easy believe or know. We want only making good product. Quality important to us.

This sounds very cool! Having more options on the market that are reliable is always good.

As others have said, I would be concerned about the ability to easily repair it, but half the time when we break electronics on the current products it is quite expensive to replace since we can’t really easily repair what we have anyway.

Looking forward to seeing pictures and continued development, keep up the good work Jeff!

That’s for what we are a community.
Helping each other to get better and build better and saver boards.

We already make work on the BMS side which almost done. Can adjusting setting for everything with bluetooth.

We want make safe, so first charge will take long time to be full balance and then will help keeping battery cell very balance always.

Sounds very promising. Keep up the good work.

I’m excited to see where this goes.

I understanding not all friend want use our BMS or Battery. If we make version of motor control without battery option also is this something friend interest in? We can make very small, is smaller that Unity and able handling more current.

That sounds like a good idea. Some people might want to use different things so accommodating that is nice.

With Focbox (single) discontinued and Unity (dual) having crazy shipping delays, there’s a big hole in the market for small good performing reliable and reasonable cost ESCs. If you can build something that fits into this hole, you’ll sell tons.

I think shaman and torqueboards have some stuff coming in though. Maker X has some new stuff but it’s not been tested enough yet. So you may not have the market to yourself.

We not making VESC, so would be different to those mention. It designing for easy use, so can do automatic configuration for motor and just need some change for battery and other setting. We make separate version working with PPM remote to keeping cost low. Targeting price of maybe $150 USD for two motor version.

If:

  • $150 dual
  • PPM control (wide compatibility)
  • optionally a proprietary remote with DSS (but not at expense of PPM)
  • very hard to kill
  • works with many/all motors
  • 12s 60a per side (this is what Unity can do)
  • same size or smaller than Unity
  • control is smooth and predictable and adjustable
  • easy configuration (as little as possible to keep simple)
  • no bad behaviors that cause injury/death
  • built in on/off switch that doesn’t break, and doesn’t have passive drain
  • motor sensors (3 x hall plus temperature)

You would own most of the market IMO. To be honest it seems a lot to ask especially given the price.

If you also add bonus:

  • 13s (Unity is capable of this but not officially) or even 14s
  • uart for accessories / remote (people here love to tinker)
    • extra bonus more than 1 uart
    • extra bonus some compatibility with vesc protocol for existing accessory/phone-app compatibility
  • bluetooth with phone app (with passcode) for telemetry and configuration
  • intelligent integration with bms (e.g. on fault event, slow down gradually not full stop)
    • provide compatible bms
  • easy to add additional heatsinking
  • easy 4wd control

No can defense.

We already working with electric car for some time. We making design for car motor driver. My engineer make smaller design using reliable Ti hardware which has been used already many years for cars driving on road today.

We can easy do 12S or 14S, just matter of changing some small parts of design. PCB is 6 layer and will be smaller sizing that Unity. Already support for FOC with Field Weakening and sensors. For no sensor can use Ti Instaspin for very smoothing startup.

Configuration will be simple with not many options. Motor can working any motor and have automatic detection and configuration, just plug in, no need anything else. Mainly option for speed, and battery setting. Too many option make too many problem and harder to diagnosing issue.

Remote we started working on design using bluetooth but not release right away, first is ESC design.
