'Need 4 Speed (& traction)' Track specific board build thread. And ERL updates now :)

No idea as no bluetooth. I wasnt getting thermal throttling

Should chuck one on itll be fine after you do your setup. Just for rt data. Does 16s feel more powerful?

16s feels no more powerful on my current gearing. I am running slightly less amps than I was on my 12s so makes sense. Once I gear down with same amps it will no doubt feel more powerful.

Damn y’all must have some real bad luck with BT. I use the Minnie haven’t had an issue… unless if I unplug it the brakes will be better :rofl:

I discovered one of my front motors had shaft loose when changing pinions tonight. Turns out the grub screws holding the shaft in place were gone!!! Could be why i was hearing weird screech and cutout feel from one of my fronts last night.

It’s mainly because Tas and I are still using 5.3FW and that just doesnt play nice with the Vesctool App.

I want to try 6.02FW when the D100s from BOTY prize pool arrives and swap out my D75.

Which motors were you running in the front? Sounds like dolphin activites.

Yes, good way to describe the noise haha. Radium 6355s. I will say they pulled apart very easily and once I’d put new grub screws back in they felt solid again surprise surprise haha. Just needed to be more careful when i pulled the can off as lost the key for the shaft ( the shaft inside the can has a key too).

It’s been a while since updating. Not much to report back on other than practice for esk8con isnt going all smooth sailing haha

@Tasventouras is absolutely flying around the esk8con track!! I’m taking a lot longer than i hoped to get comfortable with it on my current setup but making progress still. Partly due to my lack of confidence hitting my remote full throttle with front motor gremlins still coming into play when I do.

Front motors have been replaced so it’s likely an ESC issue over CAN or perhaps there’s a bad wire connection, but everything except a small harness from battery to esc has been replaced recently. I will replace that harness too to rule it out.

I need to race in my leathers for next session because as you can see, the T Shirts dont hold up as well to slides haha. I’m a bit bummed I ripped my SRB shirt though.

Esk8con2024 was such a blast. There were so many great moments that far outweighed my disappointment of crashing out in heat 2.

One of the greatest parts was meeting a whole bunch of the esk8 community I’ve had a lot of contact with. I wish i was a little less focused on the racing to meet even more of you but it’s tough to get around to everyone.

The best by far was getting out on the track with so many great riders. It was so much fun! I really hope the numbers keep growing and local clubs keep building and pushing each other.

Too many people to mention and thank so will leave it there as also don’t want to miss anyone.

I’d love to get back again!!

Here are my RaceChrono laps of Heat 1 which went much better than heat 2 lol:

Since returning home I’ve still got the racing bug and had a few sessions with the local crew and @Tasventouras (who was sooo unlucky to get clipped on first bend in the final!! I believe he would have got 3rd at worst had that not happened). We did Chicago Northerly on Sunday and Tas PBd and snuck in front of my previous best by 0.18 of a second so as always I’m desperate to get back in front of him again haha. We’ve still got some time to make up and Mario did a 24 on Sunday!!!
Here is best i managed on Sunday compared to my PB. Not far off but a long way to get the next few in front.

I’m going to lower my ride height again. I only have about 3-4mm lower to go so it’s a lot of work for such a small amount but Tas has had success going slightly lower so I’ll try.

I’m getting my confidence back after @poastoast helped me get rid of my front motor gremlins by showing me how to manually detect each motor and change a few of the values. I forgot what they were but next time I hardwire I’ll screenshot the values.

Got an indoor track session coming up this Sunday and will be trialing the new 165mm Linnpower racing slicks and the 6inch M Boards Nova tyres. Will see how they compare to the track records. I think both will go well on the indoor slick track. Will they be faster than my trusty Meepo Cyclones? We will soon see.

Stoked that the gremlins are gone and you are gaining that confidence back in the build! Plenty of good racing ahead this year

Long time since an update…

Ive still been getting out roughly once a week but nothing outstanding to report.

The Nova tyres have proved themselves to be the best indoor tyre to date. I know it’s been mentioned elsewhere but just going to reiterate that again. They really have great grip indoors on a slick surface!

I missed out on the recent Dragy Cup in Queensland Australia but few weeks prior I got some laps in on a large outdoor Kart track in Cockburn (yes that’s a real suburb haha).

Race Pics

Some awesome photos taken by one of our local riders Mark Wright.

It was the fastest track I’ve ridden to date. 75kph was top speed hit for the day. Lucky for us, this track will feature heavily in the upcoming ERL season.

I do also have a confession to make. I purchased a used EUC and it’s pretty fun. Been T Racing on it to get my skills up and i can see myself going in EUC races this year too.

I’ll wrap this update up with a pic from tonights ERL season opener at High Voltage. Ben Hall has added some nice touches to his newly aquired SRB V5 and took it out on track tonight. It’s definitely going to be a more competitive season with a bunch of new race boards entering the scene. Looking forward to it
