I am not sure @TheBoardGarage .
I am under the impression it’s going to continue working as normal, except for the discharge.
I am blindly following what others have done.
Most of my inspiration came from Surf dados video.
And I believe he indicates charging and balancing work the same.
I have not verified that any further.
So I am now curious if I need to be concerned. Especially since the Pint is in my house most of the time.
See around minute 5:30
Ah, yeah.
That does bypass the BMSs ability to stop charging. I remember now, there’s an alternative way to wire it to avoid that, by using a split from the main XT60 off the pack, and fully bypassing the BMS for discharge.

So can you help me understand the possible risk there?
If the FM charger malfunctions it could go past the 62.25 volts?
Or what could happen?
Essentially, yes.
If the cells become overly spread out in their voltages, and a group or more become over charged, the BMS does not have access to the switch to cut charging.
Same for other errors or issues that would lead to it disallowing charge.

For most people yeah. But when you have 743 spare boards i guess it’s not so bad.

The latest darling is really delightful.
Wow.
This little Vesced Pint X is so much fun
I did 7 miles around the playground and 4 later on with my neighbor.
I can’t even compare it to the regular PX
So much more confidence

Yep.
It was a Onewheel heavy week.
I did go out on the Flux for a 19 mile lunch break ride early in the week.
I even did some Gravel Flux type stuff with it.
And it does it just fine…
The Flux rode great.
The DV6P continues to work fine as far as riding goes.
And it continues to be weird as far as connecting to the app goes…
The MBS hub did not make any clicking noises
So good stuff there.
I slept wrong and jacked my neck up because getting old is so cool.
So I didn’t ride a day and have not really tinkered any…
The little Vesc Pint is especially impressive off road.
It can just go wherever you want.
Remarkable torque and control.
This is totally adorable if you ask me…
Part of the reason it’s been a Onewheel heavy week is I actually have buddies that ride them and come around.
So I got to ride the 22S growler build again and it’s so freaking nice.
The growler seems like the perfect standing platform.
And off we went Onewheeling in the rain.

More Onewheel mumbo jumbo…
I Jailbreaked my GT…
I had not done anything like that since my early days on Android…
I flashed Rewheel on the GT which writes some patches in the FM firmware and you can do some modifications to how the wheel rides.
It raises the pushback speed, so I don’t get pushback at 19.
And it gives access to custom shaping.
I have managed to go slightly faster than before.
Not by much.
But the way the pushback feels is way better.
So I am extra stoked on the GT.

How does the VESCed Pint feel compared to the GT?

So here is a shocker.
More Onewheeling today.
Took the Pint to the little trails we like to ride and it totally killed it.
At lunch break I met up with Daniel and we went to the same trails…
And he killed it on his Growler.
And then he killed his Growler going off a bonk…
dRV over current fault…
After school pick up on the Gravel Flux I went and did 10 miles on the Llama.
And it was sweet.
I took it easy and it was more of a mellow carvy cruise and it was really nice ride the Llama like that.

Tiny dude.
Mostly tiny.
That is the biggest difference.
The standing platforms are such a different size.
The GT is a boat.
But I swear right now the Pint feels more capable off road.
The custom shaping on the GT helped it a lot.
But I am amazed at the Pint. It can go wherever I point it and it has such torque and precise control.
Before the Vesc the pint was a bummer on the road because the pushback came on so early and was so aggressive.
But now… That is gone.
And off road it had way less umpf than the GT, and now it just climbs.
Really crazy how much it opened it up.
For a couple days there I was more stoked on the Pint. But Rewheel made the GT extra exciting again.
And I can do nosedrags on the GT now with the remote tilt…

Yesterday I met someone from here in real life.
@Colson003 was in town and hooked up to go ride…
Low and behold we rode freaking Onewheels…
@Colson003 has an XR that is pretty much stock except for this magical tire…
The Nimbus Hoosier.
And his board felt so freaking good.
FM really did something special with the XR.
I had to change so much shit on the GT to get it to be good…
It was really fun ripping around campus late at night!!!

I got out on the Khymera today.
10 miles or so.
Feeling great.
I really like the combo of the 7 inch evolve tires and the Tommi Boi Hubbas.
Then we went to little celebration for earrh day they have downtown and I took the PXVX and I think I am ready to just do away with walking.
The little Vesced Onewheel performed so well in tight spaces with crowds and on bumpy grass.
It was such a treat to tool around in it the whole time…

Had a nice playground hit yesterday.
The Gravel Flux got us there.
The PXVX provided me with entertainment.
It’s really remarkable how good the Little Foccer made this little board.

Today I took the Flux to go my dentist appointment.
About 6 miles there took 20 minutes.
And 6 miles back…
Totally fun.
It’s cool to actually replace driving sometimes!!!

I don’t have a car. I just ride everywhere. Even in a small suburb/rural area it works. I get by.
