My Esk8s. A journal of sorts

I did not like the look of the long hangers at all on the Demonseed.

they seem like the more robust option…

but I might be stubborb and do the short ones
even though the angle is not ideal and that makes me mad.

Al @glyphiks what would Australian Barefoot Jesus do???

I’d be worried that the short belt length on the short mounts would be prone to belt skip. I’d use the longer mounts for sure.

I think imma go short…
i can always break it and fix it again…

I’m going from 15/44 to 14/40

I think the belt situation may be ok.
I about of skipping here and there may be ok.

let me see if it all actually fits together…

imma send it.
I like it.
I want the motors tucked close…

once again. I don’t have the ideal size belt.
should be 275 or 270 to have the motors out further
pictures are 265.

apparently I can’t fuckin fing a second 265…

so 260 it is.

amazes me.

also reminds me v-belt supply never shipped my last 2 orders…

yep.
so I have the clearance of about a tiny smidge…

I wonder how much the wheels lean when carving…
I guess I will find out here soon.

I am going to order longer belts.
if the motor is all the way out of looks like this.

possible clearance issues aside I like the looks of it.

and Luca seems to approve!!!

Did you do the grip of the deck? Luv it!

Thanks dude.
Yep, I did it. Clear Lucid Grip and some masking tape.

I have done it on a few decks and I like that stuff.

holy bananas.
these are some nice parts…
@3DServisas

just freaking gorgeous.

V-belt guys shipped my order.
shipped it fast.
and only 2 of the 6 belts were missing…
so that is a win…

they said the 270 was backordered with a 12 week lead time you know. because 2022…

luckily 275 was the ticket.
perfect fit to push the motors way back.

wheel should be fine now.

Today we had the first and most epic ever group ride in Columbia Missouri.

it started with me and Benji and the new recruit Garret.

Then I ran into my neighbor Mike on the bridge of the trail connector and told him to go get his Onyx.
I have been wanting to ride with him for a long time…

at some point on a red light at the end of Campus a kid by the name of Daniel pulls up on a Zealot.

so there are FIVE OF US.

And to me that is totally epic.

Daniel only hung for a couple miles and broke off. and Benji had to go home.

So we kept going back through campus for more cruising…

It is a weird time of year and it’s is 70 and roads are covered in Salt… and the Grouund was sweating ins spots in the evening…

Great for thane right…

But what took Garret down was a pot hole.

the dude falls super well and comes geared up. and pops right up. total win.

Here is the 1st lesson of the evening.
Don’t lend your board to a relatively new guy in Current mode…
When Garret fell he punched and held the break and the board went flying backwards for 50 yards…
Until it hit the gate of the stadium…
seemed ok after.

Here is the 2nd lesson of the evening.
when you go in the vesc app to change from current mode have the remote off and the wheels off the ground…

I hit write on the vesc app and the board takes off… another 50 yards into a parked car.
I thought it hit the tire but it must have hit the wheel.

thanks goodness nobody got hurt on either of the attacks…

the luck and good fortune that nothing really bad happened make it hilarious…
it was such a chaotic couple of minutes…

so this Demonseed is dead…

so it goes.
It lived a good life!!!

Eh people chop the tips off the forks all the time, it’s probably still perfectly usable as a deck assuming the damage didn’t propagate, maybe as a push board or something just in case.

breaks my heart - but I think you can save that DS too @rafaelinmissouri

Al saved one with tip damage on both ends a year or so ago I wana say

oh yeah. Al @glyphiks did the metal plates on his 44 I think.

looked great.

would be cool since this is top mount .

the only issue is I can’t make nice shit like Al can…
