My Esk8s. A journal of sorts

The RAD LAC has an old 12S6P P42A I built.

I have a 12S7P on the Almost a Flux with the same box.

I think it may be possible to fit a 12S8P in this box maybe…

Kicktail or longboard?

Kicktail, for sure.

I think the Omakase is a really sweet deck.

It’s really kind of big. But if you need a big belly it’s got it.

I do wish I had mine with the back truck in the inner position for more tail.

But I would also consider a 80s deck situation…

The Nicky Guerrero is super comfortable to me.

The Landyatchz ATV was my preferred 80s type deck before the Nicky.

@Pecos during my lunch break ride today I was jamming to one of my favorite banana songs and I thought you may appreciate it.

I really like that Omakase—trying to go for those vibes but smaller.

Have you ever tried the Loaded Coyote? I think I’ve talked myself into grabbing the one from Tom’s deck post… definitely wouldn’t throw a big battery on it.

Yeah. I had it. It’s hanging in the garage.

To me it’s not very comfortable…

Paging @Pecos he has the Ballona build that is really pretty.

I really want one of those…Loaded Longboards Cruiser Deck - Ballona Willy 9" x 27.75" – TGM Skateboards

This was my first Esk8. Bought October ‘23 for 99$

Came with 7s1p single drive 70mm hub motor and TKP’s.

I’d converted it to 7s2p and dual diagonal drive, and the thing was so nimble and fun but 12mph max speed.

The deck was so twisty flexy, I encased it in fiberglass and added a roving perimeter, and wore the thin sleeves to shreds then ruined the remote.

Was pushing it around the driveway yesterday with some RKP’s and adding risers to see about wheelbite with bigger 80, 90&105mm wheels.

Soon it will be powered again, but I’m kinda fearing its ability to go 25mph.

The Coyote was pretty. But too narrow with flares …

Dude, the shape of that Ballona is so rad. I really need to stay out of your posts—you’re giving me too many ideas.

Seriously, though. Thanks for the tips!!

I don’t know if I ever break 20 on the Dinghy…

But however fast it is,. It feels super fast!!! :grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes:

I can see what you mean by how narrow it is… That is just too fucking rad, though.

This definitely sold me!

Nice I’m thinking I should make a 12s7 or 8p in the same top mounted pelican case

Tinkering is happening.

BN clamps going to hopefully hold the Idea TB Mounts.

Going to 180 hangers from the 220.

Most excellent.

A delightful tinkering session with getting the drive lined up.

I realize it’s premature for me to be excited about the change to 180s.

But I sure am excited about the look.

The front could actually go narrower, but I’m matching the width of the rear with the pulleys.

Funny how the narrower set up ain’t all that narrow.

So stoked on the look.

I still have to hack up the deck…

That will be work… not sure what to use yet.

Maybe the grinder with a wood wheel? For violence…

Not sure… Dremel might take forever.

Today after work I went on a delightful sunset ride on the Flux.

A good 14 miles hitting the gravel trails.

Perfect day!!!
