My Esk8s. A journal of sorts

I did finally.

I got an Ender V3 SE a while back…
And spent enough on upgrades to make it really especially stupid I didn’t buy a P1S…

But the Ender is currently working and the last piece I made from it came out great.

Ok.

Think we are good.

Thanks @Pecos for the files.

I ended up using the V3 but I did need to shorten my spring.

The trigger is very tight now!!!

But seems to be quite good.

The EUC is good

I’m a little over 2250 miles on the Patton.

I am really happy to have added it to the mix of rideables.

This morning for example I used it to ride up and down the block and warm up by doing squats and other stretches…

I look like an awkward steam punk balet dancer up and down the block…

But it’s a great warm up…
And it’s better for warming up and stretching than an esk8 or onewheel because I’m facing straight forward.

A little bit later in the morning I needed a few things from the grocery store, and it seemed like the vibe so I took the EUC and Luca rode his bike.

I keep on falling…

Damnit…
Fell off the EUC at the skatepark this morning…

It’s really stupid hot in Missouri right now.
It’s 100° and humid by 10:00 in the morning tyoe of situation.

But Luca constantly asks to go to the skatepark…
These days I’m mostly say no.
This morning I said yes and we headed out there.

We had it all to ourselves.

I was going to try to go down one of The transitions that I did not commit.
So I lost balance and kind of rolled over to the side, onto the grass.

No big deal…

I tried to roll out of the grass and I smacked into a tall hidden curb.

The EUC stops.
And I just fall forward on my knees elbows and wrists…

It was at low speed and everything I hit was covered by pads…

But fuck man… Falling sucks.

I really to stop with that shit.

I’m ok. My left elbow that is still sore from when I fell last time really hurts…

Glad you’re alright dude. Every single fall, even the not-too-bad ones, always shake me and remind me how stupid this hobby is :joy: never stops me for long though.

Trying 3 Links again

Wish me luck, as I navigate taking both trucks almost all the way apart…

Trying them on the Demonseed again.

The difference is I am going ahead with chopping the deck.

I did a horrible job with the cut and still have a ton of sanding to do.

But I wanted to see if the trucks may work first.

But even at first glance on the bench the dropped through set up looked really promising!!!

And it may very well be the sauce.

I have plenty of tire clearance.
It’s a smidge lower than the RKP set up.
And the articulation looks pretty good.

But I gotta say, trying it out with the old back trucks felt really promising!!!

It’s loose.
It carves.
It feels low.

Let’s see if we can go conquer the rear end.

Shinny Parts

Yey.
New Onewheel footpads.

I’m replacing my cracked Halos on the GT, with the FM Flared Lowboy Wood footpads.

They are much lighter…
I’m shedding 2lbs!!!

Very pretty.

Soon enough I’ll get printed grip tape on here.

And I have JoeHooks footholds on the way.

Ooof, sorry man! Falling always sucks — glad you’re okay.

I pancaked myself onto the pavement the other day too. Definitely a humbling experience.

Those 3-links look like such a blast. I really wish they’d pop up more often — I’m dying to try a set.

Heading down to Arkansas

The empty van signals the very start of the vacation vibes.

Once again I have to play PEV Tetris and see how many electric toys we can pack in here.
1 - wife’s bike
2 - Naia’s bike
3 - Max’s hoverboard.
Luca gets:
4 - bike
5 - Onewheel PXVX
6 - Electric Long board
I get
7 - Ion Drive
8 - Almost a Flux
9 - Onewheel GT VX
10 - Patton EUC.

Wow.
I worked a bunch putting those all in there.
Taking them out… And trying again.

But writing out the list seemed more crazy…

I’m ok, are you ok?

We are going to a cabin in the middle of nowhere Arkansas…

It doesn’t justify all the toys…
But on the way back we are staying in Bentonville for 3 days as an added bonus.

And there I definitely want to ride all the things!!!

So I have all the toys crammed in there.

Let’s see if we can get the rest of our stuff in there.

Hell yeah ! Looking forward to it . Hoping the heat dies down a little by then . It’s been ridiculous the last few days. Plenty of spots to cool down at regardless .

Out in the boonies

We spent 5 days in the cabin in the very middle of nowhere Arkansas…

I can tell why my wife picked out this Airbnb because the place itself was incredible.

But it was a really long way to get there and it felt really, really remote. A little scary to me even.
Deliverance vibes…

But back to the cabin… It was amazing.
With a perfect clear spring fed Creek in the yard.

I rolled around with Luca on the Mountain board

The nicer swimming hole with across the street.

I can’t keep up with my 5 year old

We went for a ride up and down The gravel road to the cabin.
And Luca is already faster than me here…

Back to chilling…
The creek was really amazing…

Just don’t mess with your friendly neighborhood water moccasin. It’ll fuck you up…

One of the days we went “crystal digging” and it was a perfect opportunity for the Onewheels to kill boredom…

So I’m glad I packed them in the van…

Pretty place!

Time at the cabin was nice.
Not much riding to speak of, but lots of rest and time with the monsters.

Back to Civilization

I got to play PEV Tetris once again and we packed the van to make the 3 hours drive to Bentonville.

The Sienna is truly magical!!!

The little Airbnb in Bentonville does not include a creek… But I was pretty geeked about the garage.

Not too long after unloading, Luca and I set off for a ride before dinner.

Bentonville was calling…
We rode about a mile from the house to the top of the All American Trail.

Luca can keep up well on his bike.

The bike skills park was the desired destination.
Luca remembered it from the Spring Break trip.

We even rode the big jump section… It’s all tables.

There is so much to ride here… I wish I had more time here, and in the time I have here I wish I had more stamina.

After riding we went to the Flying Fish, which may be the main reason my wife wanted to come to Bentonville…

We might eat there every night we are here…

I got up early today hoping to ride trails, but the universe wanted me to recover and stretch…

So I’m sitting here watching the rain.

Nelson @JustNeL I thought you may appreciate the fact that along with the 10 PEVs the Gaggia also made the trip.

Most critical component!!!
