Mountainboard Build | E-Toxx Helical Direct Drive | 6374 BioBoards | VESC6

I have the newest metr app and firmware installed

@Venom121212
As far as temperature goes, both have been able to perform similarly well

Quite happy with it

So yeah… it seems that my remote drops out ? I don’t understand that… its a new GT2B… the antenna is layed out nicely on top of the case away from all the other cables… receipton seems fine (I can go away from the board 10 meters and still throttle and brake)… what could that be ?
grafik

Makes me mad because I learned to love the GT2B but when I turn off the GT2B it will show 1.50PPM while in “neutral” position when it is on it should be 1.45PPM so I Know for sure that those spikes are lost signal… any hints ?

I already paired the GT2B a couple of times but it doesn’t really change anything…

does your batteries have a good connection in the transmitter? did you checked your ppm cable?

At least I had a considerably nice ride today…

@sebaszz
The battery connection is soldered so it is as good as it gets.
I checked the PPM Cable but I will maybe try to hotglue it in place for the next try…

You might want to open your transmitter case and check the soldered antenna connection. I accidentally broke off the antenna when I did my gt2b mod, cause it’s very fragile, and still worked fine on the bench, with decent range, but when I tried to ride with it, it had issues keeping connection.

@Mobutusan

Thanks for the recommendation. It will be hard to open my case at the moment because I had to fix it once when it broke and this involved kinda using some compund and glue etc. so its sealed.

I am pretty sure I didn’t break the Antenna connection as I say I can go away 10 meters from the board and still be able to throttle and break fine every time. Only when riding I get those “micro dropouts”.

But when I get around no other solution I will cut open the case and then seal it again

My money is a loose PPM cable. Solder and glue that shit. Had some very similar erratic throttle/braking issues on a board and haven’t had em since

@whaddys
Yeah being from Tyrol is great haha

@stratoglide
I already checked the PPM Cable now - bent the pins a little bit for more forcet connection and put a glob of hotglue on as well. Let’s see if it helps but it seemed to be connected fine before…

Do you feel the printed fans helped with motor cooling?
On the metr log you posted the motors are surprisingly cool considering the vertical ascent distance.

my mom lives in Germany and I remember visiting her when this song was all over the Austrian aprski :rofl::rofl:

Yes they feel a lot colder to the touch - So I absolutely think it helped the temp. When I went up the mountain yesterday I touched the motors on the highest spot and I could easily hold my hands on them without discomfort.
So surprisingly it helps and doesn’t even look so bad :smiley:

What are the chances of sharing the design?
Even better how difficult would it be to also design a set for sk8 motors? :grin:

@taz but also note that I changed the Beta Value as well - so it will show a lower temp anyways as well.

I can share the design I made for my motors for sure… not sure about the SK8 ? always hard without having the motors itself and the design I made mostly is only “printable” on DLP Printers with resin (or with very good FDM Printers I guess)

Ah, ok. It was a WTF moment when I saw these temperatures. Anyway, I could give them a try on my Prusa i3 Mk3S and if they help we could try something for the sk8. The construction or the rear of the can is very similar to the maytech.

I will upload the STL to Thingiverse soon
