Motor discussion: the best and worst of it all

yes, it should … but honnestly I don’t remember and don’t where did I put them if so ^^ I should be able to find one or take from older motors

I was able to destroy flipsky motor by hitting the kerbs. Bell was bent, but replacing the shaft helped.
Nice motor, magnets glued well.

super well glued magnets indeed … … … … …

You can put a washer in the shaft, then put back the bell…it should`t be a problem…And epoxy the magnets of both motors…shity motors, shity service, shity brand…but can be fix…

Thx bro !

this is a bit encouraging … when I will find my motivation again :crossed_fingers:

once again, Im sorry but as I said “You will know a very dissatisfied and resentful Riko these next times … I apologize in advance, but it’s very bitter!

as the ESCs !

yes, didn’t find worst, even Spychotiller is a little behind actually !

for sure, never ever again ! I stopped last year to pay the price.

So, I come back to my issues :relaxed::

yes, I will try that, what tipsy also advises  Thx again good sir !!

it couldn’t be more badly balanced than it already isn’t! loooool

You have swap sk8 to TB motor right ? (6380 170kv ?) how is it going on your beaty-monster??
I wouldn’t say that with Dexter’s presence,… but last year, like for china, I had promised myself to don’t buy again in US … but I think TB will/could be an exception :face_with_hand_over_mouth::stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye::shushing_face:

SK8 are really good for price/quality…But TB are so smooth and powerfull…I did change motors because I have e-toxx mini drives, and my speed and power was under my expectations with 149kv 6374s, I pushed them to 80 amps and 35% positive exponential throttle mapping, but speed was limited to kv and power was kind of missing...Therefore I wanted to get more speed to avoid cars (this it is my commuter board), because at Buenos Aires, people is always speeding trying to race you (idiots everyware). So I decided to bet some money on TB 6380s after reading such great reviews (they improved, and listen to the riders)…It was a great bet…By the other hand, I trust SK8 motors from Turnigy, they worked for me and are tough boys…

Yours motor from old batch. Now they all with retaining ring

Yeah Baz, read it all again
Also, the replacing part I got after that, looks upgraded that yours,… even if it’s older!..
you don’t have the clamps ring that maintains your retaining ring, and it’s newer ?.. weird.
Plus, I don’t see added epoxy between magnet, and they don’t look balanced (or it’s on the other side but I doubt about it). :v:

I just hope we can one day have an almost perfect motor. (a bit like the last Maytech)

wasn’t MakerX or electricboardsolutions or nexusboards that was supposed to make the best motors out there ? I don’t find it again …

wait, you put them inside of the motor ? they are supposed to be spacers, how could they hold the shaft ?

The shaft it is attached to the bell…the rotor it is attached to the mount of the motor mount…The shaft it is hold by the retainning nuts from the back of the bell…unasamble the bell from the rotor and add a proper washer to the shaft to get some space to let the bell turn around freely…

thanks for the tip!
i think the motors is the only part i didn’t disasemble so far, it will all makes a lot more sens in my head when i’ll get my hands inside

What is the maximum amps one can push through the 6374 130kv motors?

I can not speak for a generic motor type brother. I push 100amps motor on 6374 sk3/8 and they handle it depending on the weather and type of riding. Mid summer here is ridiculous so I drop down to 80 amps if I am going on some long rides. It depends solely on the particular motor and then find someone who has actual experience before ramping them up too high but as a rule of thumb I up the amps then take a hard hilly ride. Temp test the motors after or suffer a thermal cut out during and end up in a bush. Way I roll.

I agree; start low and creep up until something adverse happens, then back off a tad. That’s your limit.

Hahaha Burnnnn :fire::fire:

Ah thats great advice I will slowly ramp up and temp test along the way. Thanks man

Back to reality…

Yeah man, just ramp it up slowly and check temps.

My SK3 6374 192kV motors have been taking up to 5100W without warming up too much.
