@malJohann is that JBweld in the motor mounting slots?

I like the idea of setting it then keeping it in position, the motor moving out can definitely put too much strain on the tips of a wheel drive

But he position actually looks fine in your photo though, wondering if you moved it back into position or if it was too tight

@Ace danger of not getting it right or having it come loose

Close but no cigar, it’s Sugru black, I actually put it in all the mounting gaps (including the truck / gearbox assembly) to hermetically seal the gearbox against dust intrusion.

I didn’t move it to mesh better at all, but think I’m actually about 1mm from ideal, if ideal is the pitch circle of the pinion meshing with the pitch circle of the spur.

That’s what she said :joy:

Edit:… I’m too late for this joke :unamused:

I get it, maybe to close together, the whole setting the mesh thing is an art and a science

I’ve been thinking about this since I made the reserve tank. I like the spine protector idea because a it would look better than a back pack but b) I always imagine my self falling with a square cubed hard case in my back pack and my spine snapping on impact.

I bought a fox chest rig for this reason. If I remembered any 3D design from the cad classes I took in high school I’d already be Printing latches with parachute releases to attach my batteries between my shoulder blades.

Looks like I managed to set at least two guys up for that reply.

Had a quick look online at Bat-Safe testing and the Wh limits they can handle. I have one at home I use for storage and charging.

Since I only plan to use 222Wh on my board, which is the normal size Bat-Safe’s limit, I might just put one of those in my backpack.

Definitely avoid the backpack if you can haah

I think I would buy 2 and combine them so I’m protected properly and not just the electrics. Wanted to do this since pre-ordering my 1st board in 2014

Do what, get a back protector?

What was the pre-order for? I’ve got some ideas for a safe and powerful backpack power source.

Come to think of it, it’ll look ace mounted on a back protector.

You’re giving me ideas. Stop it! My wallet!

Might as well ask the question in advance, what are the Unity users out there running for current settings?

My battery pack can supply more than the Unity can handle anyway, so looking for max battery, motor and braking current for a dual unsensored SK3 6374 build.

What are the chances, ordered both on the 22nd, one from the US and one from Germany. Both arrived on the same day.

I’m running 100a battery and 100A per motor without any issues for quite a while now.

How about startup Amps and brakes?

100A breaks is sharp but never had any problems with it. What you mean startup amps?
