I would always choose the single versions of any ESC.
Any specific reason for this? Is it more reliable?
Yes. If something fails, it doesnāt bring down the other side (assuming youāre using dual receivers). Also, you have half as much to replace. You canāt saw a dual in half and pay to replace only one side.
Just add one electrolytic on the main power leads.
I added som phat solder to the power paths on the PCB as well, they looked tiny.
Sorry, VESC noob here,
But does that mean 50a motor max or 50a battery max? (Per vesc)
battery amps
Talking about focā¦Does any Motor Work in FOC? does it have to be sensored?
yes, no
I already know now what escs I will use for my new work and back board project
i dont see a uart port on the DUAL esc, are there plans to add one?
There Are uart ports on the dual itās located next to the hall sensor port.
i see, that pin out looks different, usually rx and tx next to one another
Yes it is a very different pinot and the voltage is only 3.3v not 5v
Do you think my vx1 will work with it? If I change the pin out on my vx1 plug?
Itās supposed to use 5v but Iāve bench tested it with the vx1 and its working fine.
Right on, what are your over all impressions of the dual? I am thinking of doing a 4wd build with 2 of them, the price point is really good
I have only bench tested it thus far but so far so good. Just keep in mined that the uart and hall sensor port pinouts Are different than every other vesc Iāve used.
Gotcha, but swapping around some pins doesnt seem like that much of a down side
