Hopefully soon, I will let you know!

@rpasichnyk Can I get some help? I picked up a METR Pro CAN w/ GPS and it’s being really buggy

I got the unit used from @Kalitapaws and it was working when it was sent, today I decided to do the swap so I could log my ride into work tomorrow, I swapped out the UART METR Pro and CAN cable for the METR Pro CAN w/ GPS using the 4 pin power/data cable to device 1 and the 2 pin data only to device 2 (dual FOCBox 1.6 running 410 FW5.2 over CAN) and updated it over Bluetooth

If I plug it into device 1 top and device 2 bottom it seems to detect device 2 only but if I swap it then it can’t find either and it just says pairing and the app crashes (iPhone XR) or it connects but gets stuck reading VESC configuration, and I can only drive motor 1 (remote plugged into UART on device 1). Works just fine when I have the UART METR Pro and CAN cable (although the connection is really spotty)

Anything I can do to diagnose it? The blue and green light on the module are on, and in the app there is a red symbol (dot with red ring and 4 lines extending out, and a 0 in the upper right and “ext” underneath) when plugged into device 1 top and device 2 bottom

That is the GPS icon.
When it is Red and shows a 0 means that it hasn’t established a satellite connection yet. If it does, then it turns green and shows the number of connected satellites. This may take a minute (more or less depending on where you are)

Creating a log could be helpful. Settings - Show logs (5th option from the bottom)

And upload here.

You can send the log to support@metr.at or just attach here as text file. You don’t need to paste the text here.

Just for testing, please unplug your remote receiver from UART port and see if it helps, you should at least be able to read configurations and detect both VESCs in the app. What remote do you have?

Okay I will test when I get home, it’s a VX2 in device 2

It can only see device 2 but its connecting, swapped ports on the METR and exact same result

Hm, really don’t know what it can be. Maybe broken cable? But then your remote should not be able to spin both motors…

Only one motor spins using the METR CAN, always motor 2 which is the side the remote is plugged into

Then it must be something wrong with Metr Pro CAN cables. CANL and CANH have to be connected into a single bus. You can probably fix it by making a CAN splitter.

Doesn’t matter there are 3 VESCs on the diagram. The important part is that CANL and CANH cables have connection to each component.
