Meepo Hurricane Discussion

Can you order just the baseplate from Ownboard?

If you e-mail them, probably. But once again Chinese New Year is about to start, so good luck getting a response out of them

Did you measure how much the height difference is with the Zeus baseplates topmounted when compared to the original Hurricane DKP setup? Considering getting one of the previously mentioned motor mounts, and going for the drop mount…

Maybe @Savage1 could make a small run of baseplates?

Then we can turn LOTS of DKPs into TKP!

i did not

i don’t know either, as i do not have the original parts anymore

Alrighty. I am asking, because I am wondering about how ā€œdecentā€ the setup with the topmount will be. And I think I’d like to have the board pretty close to the ground, or at least, not unnecessary high. Did you change the pivot cups as well?

no, i didn’t have any at hand, probably should have gotten some, but i’ve been planning to swap out things that im too lazy to get around to.

Ok, thx for letting me know. So, is there anything that doesn’t feel great about your setup? Still trying to make sense of the word ā€˜decent’ here, you see

its a very subjective word, my decent could be ur crap, or the other way round. the only way for sure is to set it up and try for urself.

all i can say is, i can carve on those TKP while going 30km/h, so there’s that, speed wobble still exist, just at a higher speed that i almost don’t ride at.

Absolutely. It’s just curiosity to fill the waiting period until those baseplates arrive. Looking very much forward to those carves. I might upload a vid of the actual riding for those interested in how this hybrid actually works/feels, assuming there should be more people interested in the conversion. Unless you do so in the meantime … which I would prefer

I’ve been riding less and less these days, and I only ride at night, probably won’t have time to make a video of it. The only footage I had is when I still had the DKP on :joy:

Well, I only ride at day, easier to escape police while there is light (if needed, so far they have been quite friendly, even though it is not legal in Germany). And thanks for all your input on the topic, again.

Weird, how rare this species is. I ride every day, or let’s say 6 out of 7 days, once or twice per day, and I only ONCE met a guy with (something like) an esk8. Once in two years. 200k inhabitants. Kinda unreasonable for the amount of ā€˜joy’ these things provide. But maybe better that way, as long as it’s not legal. Giessen must have more esk8s, no?

Compared to your ā€œONCEā€ interaction, yes. We only have 80ish k living here so it’s still not a lot. My guess from soon 6 years of riding i’d say i’ve seen 10 different riders. Apart from one evolve dude i never saw one twice, ever.

Mostly scooter boys here.

You know what you did.
