MBS Agent Series Electric Mountainboards Have Arrived

Yeah, that seems to be the general feedback. But in the interest of hard data…

How likely would you guys be to buy an empty MBS AGENT Quick Swap Battery Box (empty - no cells / no BMS)?

I’ve always been curious on the weight difference on the Agent Air would be with your belt drive setup vs gear drive. May be worth a configuration option down the line :person_shrugging:

Yeah, been thinking about that. Lighter, and significantly cheaper as well. Not great for extreme stuff, but belts have their place so might offer them as an option at some point. In the meantime, people can build from scratch using our MBS Belt Drive Motor mounts instead of our Gear drives. It’s all compatible with the AGENT range. Link to MBS Belt Drive component category below…

Speaking of which, I’ve been watching a lot of your YouTube channel. I really wanna see you guys jump the Agent more! Especially the “Air” loadout.

I just spoke with him on the phone yesterday! haha. What a rad guy. When he said he was in MO I literally said “rafaelsinmissouri”. What rad spots too. He said they’re building some even more amazing trails in Joplin. MO looks like the place to be.

I need to get down there and hang out with him…

Have you guys ever considered a chain drive?

I have had some challenges with mine…
But I expect a well made one would be a great balance in performance and price between belts and gear drives.

My ISO 06B set up made by Facko held up beautifully in Arkansas.

Good call. We have indeed considered chains for the reasons you just stated.
Definitely haven’t ruled them out as a future option.

Now that the 18s Hobbywing ESC has been out for a while, what do you guys think about the power and smoothness? I wonder if an ESC like this could be used on a beginner/intermediate race board.

The more I think about it, I think a modified version of the MBS Agent, especially the 4WD drive version, could be used for racing. Most people would probably prefer a stiffer deck. A modified baseplate would allow the upcoming MAD Links to be mounted to the deck.

Haha. Typo. Edited.

One thing I think would be nice is if the chain sprocket could be supported by an axle bearing.

Like LaCroix used to do with the belt drive pulleys.

I think Apex chain drive also had a bearing.

The Apex drive did, along with a push fit adapter so no need to bolt anything to the hubs. If you can find a used set Facko already has the file to make a sprocket that will fit it. If MBS makes a chain drive this would definitely be the way to go.

@MBS do you have any of the 200x70 in au stock? Can’t see them on the website. Love your work!

Very tempted by the agent deck for a swap out - any feedback from forum riders? And ok for larger riders? I’m 110kg geared up.

Ben Buckler is distributing in Aus now, and as a result also managing mbsaustralia.com.au. It looks like they still have 280/70 (420mm trucks) in stock, but they mistakenly don’t show up in the truck category. Here is a direct link to them - 12307 - MBS Matrix III CNC Truck System (ea.) - 12 x 420mm (280/70) - – MBS Australia

I’ve sent them an email about the categorization problem.
