Welllllllllll i’m sure everyone knows how this goes.

Newly finished build with new bits on it just never be nice huh

I got off the train this morning and my board has no power, it would move, but not with load.

So i’m like hmm what’s going on and take a more in depth look and luckily it was just something simple. The Loopkey plug was pushed in so it wasn’t bridging completely.

Once I got it pushed all the way in it worked fine, BUT when testing it I put my hand in the wrong place and broke the light mount

Not even 12 hours from putting them on and I didn’t even get to use them either. Classic.

I got to work and luckily I had some VHB and zip ties stored away so for now i’m running this supreme setup

Sigh
At least I cant print a new one when I get home

Well, I broke the other light so now to a redesign of the mounts.

Along with that I had a pulley screw back out after hitting some jumps (admittedly I landed on power like a dummy) and had to get that all good to go again after some scouring of the motor mount.

Also if anyone lives and travels by NCTD in socal be ready for some shit to be thrown at you if you take the train. I ride daily and it was fine for a few weeks but now everyday I get called out on the radio for a BOLO bc someone up high up isn’t a fan of esk8.

I got hollered at IN THE PARKING LOT to get off my board and walk it (this is about 1000ft from the actual train platform). I am respectful so I got off and started to walk it, only to have a guy on a normal board ride past me ON THE PLATFORM. So I holler at the security to do his job and tell that guy to walk it. His response, “its not electric” and my response being “so then it has no brakes, now you really should stop him” to which he told me I was be combative and I told him if im doing something wrong to write me a citation and refuse me service. That of which hasn’t happened yet, but I have a feeling is coming soon.

I personally know some of the security people and they let me know that someone above them told them to keep an eye on me, they themselves said its not that big of a deal, but that the reason they keep an eye on me is bc “they don’t like electric skateboards” (what the person told them the reasoning was). So im like great lets see what happens.

And believe me I don’t ride like a dick, I have YT on for all my rides and on average im doing 4mph in the station (parking lot), I get that for safety but cmon man, at those speeds I stop better on a board than I do on my feet and im in a damn parking lot, im impeding traffic if I go any slower

Just crazy to me that one person with a biased opinion can push that on others, thinking its right way.

Ya know maybe if they came and talked to me like adults this could all get pushed passed, but most the security love to lean towards, “ill just kick you off if you don’t do what I say.”

I think im at the point where I need to go 18s, ditch the train and ride the 18 miles to work. At least the actual police don’t bother me and think its sweet.

Dude you’re tellin me. Its non stop some days, people trying to run me off the road and telling me to get on the sidewalk. My commute is 2+ hours one way which I think I can get down to 45 min on a board if im really cruising, but drivers don’t make that easy.

Im glad my board does 45mph to get outta those situations lol

Anyone got one of these in their stash pile?

Or something similar. Something wide like that would be sweet. Also need it for a top box.

It’s a good deck but of you are looking for length, it’s not it. I am moving my racer away from the haero onto a tomiboi deck for this exact reason to have more room on the deck, and my friend’s racer is getting built on a flux deck for the exact same reason

It’s my favorite deck for offroad trail riding though! Although I personally prefer the 2021 graphics and shape

This is what i’m after it for mostly. So good to hear that you are a supporter of them lol.

It seems to be the best for an off road centered build which is the plan I am going for.

Big power big wheels off road beast. I have a lot of moto trails and stuff around me so I want to build a board that will be able to churn some dirt and put some watts down. Oh and hopefully jump tf outta it and break some things. I’ve been getting too sketchy on my commuter so it’s time to get a fun board built

I also will be going with a flux or similar deck once I get the funds for my commuter. I just need something a little more stable at the higher speeds.

And when I say commuter it’s also my weekend parking lot racer so same-same nothing fancy

Okay need some insight from anyone who’s got any.

How does traction control pull power? Reading it looks like it pulls power from the faster spinning motor until rpm matches within your rpm range.

I hit an ABS_Over_current_fault in a spot where I normally hit traction control.

I also hadn’t changed my fault time down from 500ms and holy fuck I wish I camera on.

I got a solid 15ft on the front 2 wheels and then it powered back and knocked me onto my rear 2 wheels for another 20ft. If it weren’t for bindings I woulda had a lot worse of a day I just barely held on.

Now that being said how does that happen? Would traction control pulling motor power lead to that?

Or more or less I was too heavy on throttle and launched it too hard?

Also 250ms fault time or less?

Are matrix 2s supposed to have that big gap in between the hanger and baseplate?

It makes the rear shake a bunch and I hear/feel it over bumps

I run 60ms on my higher power death machines, and 80ms on normal boards.

For some reason they develop play over time and then they become shit at high speeds. If you have enough play to put an extra washer between the baseplate and the hanger do that

Okay perfect.

Got fault time down lower and I ended up 3dp a copy of the bushing but with an extra mm on the lip and it seems to be working fine.

As long as it’s something known I was just worried I did something uncommon.

I think it’s time for matrix iii’s soon anyway

OOOH She’s lookin spicy with the new wheels

I’m going to ride like this for a few days and then pull them off and send the rear hubs to get anodized purple to match the fade.

Then she’s really be dialed in looks wise, before I step it up to 18s
