gotcha, do you think i can get away with a replacement lingyi then? Or would the dv6s be better? Is it worth the extra $100, Im a novice as far as part selection goes. Im good with the batteries, not the esc’s. I plan on using flipsky 6374 190kv motors
This kind of ESC has fixed limits (70A=35A per side) and can’t be adjusted to suit your needs. If you’re going with the Flipsky motors, you want the extra juice VESC can provide. Battery will also be a potential sticking point as many prebuilts come with batteries with BMS units that limit the output.
Dv6s is good if you want headroom, especially if you get larger motors down the line. If initial torque isn’t that important to you, DV4s will work
yea I believe thats what happened with my prebuilt. I had to make a new battery, didnt use a discharge on the bms, and it blew half the esc and the left motor with it. Maybe i’ll invest the extra $100 lol
gotcha, yea initial torque is a major ticker for me, almost a necessity. I might go with the dv6s honestly, it seems really well built. Another question though, would the range differ from the lingyi being as its a different amperage output? I almost dont care anymore, i just want this board to work, but Thats definitely on my mind.
I mean, if you’re seriously gunning it, you’ll get less range. Ride them identically, and it should be the same
gotcha, yea im probably going to be chewing through it. Shouldnt i no longer need a bms bypass if i go with the dv6s? my brains still stringing though lowkey feel like a lingyi would be sufficent, but id be cut to 35a each motor, i feel like the torque is insane on the hurricane, would the torque difference on 100a each motor (which i doubt itll ever hit) be major. do you feel the performance overall (like speed and torque) will be better than the lingyi 70a meepo offers for 160? id be able to get a bms for a total of 180 vs 280 for the dv6s, Basically I want to make sure the price to performance is there.
and i figure the top speed is due to the gearing, so overall im not worried about speed anymore, moreso matching or adding to the torque of the raldey WASP which is faster (may have less torque)
and a spec i got was the original motors are 180kv
You no longer need a BMS that handles discharge with the vesc.
