MakerX Go-FOC HI200 75v200A 100v250A ESC Base on 75300

I did contact via email. Obviously under my real name, not forum name. The esc is in the bin a long time ago now so I have no idea what solution you could do for me

Looks like the TVS diodes blew up.

That’s a pretty easy fix. Can even be done with a soldering iron if one doesn’t have a hot air station. The diodes are under a dollar each. It’s a shame it went in the trash.

It can happen when running the discharge through a BMS with a fully charged battery and using heavy regen brakes. The BMS detects overvoltage, shuts off flow into the battery and the voltage spikes in the ESC blowing the diodes.

Here is a 16s (67.2v) build on a 100v ESC spiking to 105v in this exact situation, blowing a diode. Twice.
