just use 2 pclip per side, its a lot easier to work with
That looks so janky though
there is no way round it unless u design a perfect clip and 3dp it
If it was too mounted I could put it in a riser, but I refuse to give up the look on premise alone
Doing a printed bracket wouldn’t be too hard, but I think it would still suffer from the same fragility issues
I am pretty sure I can hit the wires with a heat gun and get it to not have stress at least
The motor liner screw is a 10-32x1/4" measurement. I was given this info by Unlimited Support pre Loaded.
try it
Printed or heat gun?
heat gun first? that seems to be easy and fast to know if it works or not, leave the harder stuff for later
I just gotta make sure not to melt the clamp in the process
At least the silicone wire from ESC to the connectors will be easy, still trying to decide if I want to squish wires between the deck and enclosure, poke 6 holes into the enclosure with grommets, or epoxy panel mount an MR60 adapter
One thing to note is to not be dumb like me and use Loctite on the motor liner screws. It’s going to get stuck in there real good and the head is going to strip when you attempt to remove it. Had a hell of time getting it out afterwards. Pretty much had to destroy the screw and use a lot of heat.
Did you use red loctite?
Nope, just regular blue
Use better screws? Get a proper grade 8 plated steel
60? their connector uses 30 only
they are not metric screws, u sure u didn’t cross thread?
Touché, I feel like squishing wires is lazy behavior, so epoxied 2 MR30 adapters or 6 rubber grommets?
i probably pick this over grommets
Cross thread how? The screws that got stuck in there were from factory, I just loctite them but applied too much probably causing them to be harder to remove which led the socket head to strip at the time. I contacted Unlimited support and those were the screws I was told to order to replace the damaged one.
Unfortunately doesn’t seem like this is gonna work out. Been over a week without communication from Loaded.
At this point I figured I’ll try to fix the motor they sent myself. I was initially thinking, maybe hoping, it was a short where the three phase wires culminated into one- somewhere on the stator.
Though after opening I found there were much worse problems. And the short was clearly visible in the stator instead.
this amount of wear should have been a red flag immediately, the other “demo” motor does not look like this
Bummer outcome, but guess you can’t win them all. Sad the condition of two “demo” motors I received was so different.
If someone has an extra motor that hasn’t been stored in an aquarium and they wanna trade for something let me know.
