BN adjustable add about 16mm of height.
I want to make the electronics a narrow ridge in the middle. And try to put a. Abs sheet to cover it.
It is still a thought in progress…
The bolt locking it won’t let you go drop through i think, maybe if you carve out for it but i dont know how i feel about thinning the deck there. Seems like asking for a snapped nose
I think it would be fine. But it’s not super worth it. I think it would actually be higher overall than top mounted using those BN baseplate
Poorsec is a fitting name for this one
That is so good
What’s the belt tension like? You’d be very suprised how little tension you need at 20T with an idler. I reckon you can get the rolling resistance very low and still not skip.
Regarding the “kicktail”, from prior experience, BN hangers and idea mounts, they grub screws will dig in deep into the hanger if you put forces on the mounts, and they will develop play constantly. You’d really need some clamp style mounts to be able to do this and not need to worry about mounts loosening up. My solution was to jbweld the mounts to the hanger, no issues since then ![]()
Loose. I suppose it could be looser.
The two pulleys are so close in size…
I am not using the idea axle clamps. The grub screws got stripped from me having to re tighten them. They did not stay put on the Hummie…
I wanted to use the BN precision mount but I can drill a hole tight where I need to make it go with the Idea plate. Screw is in the way.
So I dug up old two pieces BN axle clamps, they were on an old TB 210 axle…. Lol vintage stuff.
And I was able to put a hole in that angle the mounts up…
In fact the mounts and clamps are using beefy screws and locknuts… I feel good about them.
But…
We can’t have nice things.
The two part axle clamps are totally gonna kill me with the Akashas.
So I need to figure something else out…
I may try to see if I can pry the Idea clamps with stripped grub screws from the BN 220 axle they are stuck on. Put them on here and JB weld…so something… always something.
My best guess is 130kv. But honestly, dont smell that number… you dont want to know where I pulled it out of…
@b264 likely has better knowledge of vintage metroboard stuff than I do. I tried to think about metroboard as little as possible during my time with Hoyt ![]()
That guess sounds similar to my guess
Does it have an external sensor thingy?
I’d been saving these for the mini-Raptor, but decided to play around with the Surf-Rodz stuff instead.
You could probably talk me out of them. ![]()
Sweet. I would still have to drill those… my Idea mounts are 3 holes.
Let me exaust the options I have in my garage.
In fact these reminded me I have some of the BN XL mounts I should try to slap on here. I may just need to shave some material off of them, which is a tradition of mine with BN parts
