Little FOCer! 84V 5kW VESC-Based Controller

So definitely a short to ground on the 3.3v rail, reading 0.4ohms. ADC2 is also shorted at 0.6 ohms. 5v reads 2.8kohm which is fine, ADC1 reads 10k so also fine.

Ok. Yeah looks like the controller is beyond easy repair given the situation.

PM if you want to discuss getting a new controller.

I always recommend pressing your power button once to drain the caps after disconnecting power from any esc. You will see all the lights turn on for a brief moment until all the charge is drained. Unfortunately this isnā€™t brought up much, and I know other people have shorted their esc in this exact way.

Hello! I had a voltage spike of the V3.1 and a regulator. Ive replaced that and found a blown diode which I cant identify from the markings for replacement. On my board its ā€œL8FX RRā€ and on one pictured above on the forum it seems to be called ā€œP535 RRā€. Can someone recommend what type of component i should replace with.

Can you just take a picture of the PCB and circle the diode? Or provide the reference designator?

It seems because Iā€™m a new user I canā€™t upload attachments. See xhttps://ibb.co/VNhc9MB

its the lower of the two large black diodes on the right in this image

Could you PM me on this account. Reached reply limit.

Hey guys first post here super stoked on the v4 sounds like its gonna be an awesome controller! I got a buddys 3.1 that he knocked a component off of during assembly can anyone tell me what part this is so i can repair it? Thank you.

Yeah looks like C17 broke off. Also, please use a plastic washer on the PCB mounting holes. I see where screws are scrapping the PCB.

I just killed my little foccer rip wanted to let people how I killed it so no one else does it. I had it working on 20s and then I switched it to 15s right after and because of that, I guess the capacitor had a higher voltage and it damaged the board. I know how to solder SMD components is there any way I can by a new PCB so I can fix my controller?

What is the symptom here? Not powering on?

donā€™t think I can post a picture here for some reason but one of the mosfets is burnt out. The vesc wasnā€™t arming when the mosfet burnt out it was trying to arm the red light was flickering when I connected the footpad sensor and activated both side. It tried to arm a few time and then 4 time after clicking the footpad 1 mosfet burnt out. I think I can probably fix it probably one of the ic components is bad but I think the pcb traces near the one mosfet is damage. SN LFOC00211302CN thatā€™s the Serial number. Just wondering if I can send it in to be repaired not getting any response from maker pev.

Ok so just took a closed look and looks like only one mosfet is damaged I will probably just try and replace that one by any chance can I get the part number for the mosfet. But the real issue is the vesc is not arming there is no high pitch sound and the FTL LED is not turning on any idea which component went bad.
