Lets bully SendCutSend into stocking battery building materials

Here is a form for requesting new materials. They already stock copper so asking for copper in thicknesses we can spot weld (~0.1mm) seems like the most likely for success.

Do the community a favor and go to that link and request 0.1mm thick copper!

Done. I also requested 0.2mm nickel. This is a good idea.

My work has a beefy laser. I will see if the dude that runs it can cut copper or not. Not the same as an available online source but worth knowing for the future.

Love this idea, I’ll see about requesting copper in a few different thicknesses, probably .1, .2, and .3

Same goes for nickel, ever since round 1 of US tariffs started I haven’t been able to find any reliable aliexpress suppliers like before :frowning:

He says not without some modifications to the co2 one

I’ve tried nickel with a 50w co2 one and no chance. Even with multiple passes and very slow feeds it didn’t manage to cut it. I think the main problem is the wavelength, you’d need a fiber laser to cut metals.

I have a 50W fiber laser and some 0.1 copper. Just need to find the time to do it all

Yeah, same as others. Tried cutting 0.2 nickel on a 65w co2 laser and no dice. Best I got was a faintly etched line on top after multiple passes.
