Let there be ESK8 lights

Here’s a new thing I discovered for yall: Gloworm LEDs (no affiliation) makes really compact, extremely bright headlights for various sports that comes with a remote control module. The remote can switch on/off and cycle through various dim/bright modes on the fly.

This is their XSV light with 3400 lumens (true rating) + interchangable optics. Lights up far as I can see.

The light comes with gopro style base mount or bicycle handlebar mount. I 3d printed a quick release baseplate mounted base with a LM2596HV module down to 8.4v for the light.

Heatsink is for the step down buck chip. Light has been on the board for a bit now and it’s been solid so far. Not as integrated of a solution as a integrated controller but can be moved between boards easily or used for other things.

It is possible to have too much light. I prefer low pointed menacing lights I can remotely turn off. Now you see me, now you don’t.

My helmet mounted switch.

I do have a “fuck you” light that is
Aimed high and bright like the rest here.

These jokers are extremely expensive tho they are nice tho

That price is ludicrous.

How you liking the helmet mounted switch? I don’t have a second channel available on my remote so this is interesting…

It’s good. Just don’t mount it on ur remote. Will cause interference

Thank you. If you can dig up a link in your free time, I’d appreciate it. If not, I’ll buy and try until it works.

They come in a pair.

2x 50cm in red, 2x 50cm blue.

All are 12V lights and run from a separate 3s battery and can be switched with ch3 on my gt2b remote via rc switch.

@Agressivstreetlamp sounds perfect for running a 10S forklift horn from a 12S battery

An LED bright enough to drain a 12s4p in about 5 hours if run at full tilt.
with no extreuas parts like heat sink fans, or extra batteries or ports.

Sounds like too much LED

Its dimmable dont worry.
The reasoning was against your philosophy of redundancy.
My approach to batteries is ‘fewer is better’
so lights and later even remote, should run off the main pack.

I agree with running from the main pack.
