Aw yeah so close
2WD ganggg letsgoo
(I have no money for 4wd)
Actually just been looking up some bike accelerations and turns out I can match a 1000cc to 20mph while standing on my wooden plank
Might be too much lean, needs to be workshopped a bit I think.
Nice times, but one of the biggest factors is Rider’s weight.
Got a chance to strap my RaceBox to the Diablo today so thought I’d add some production board times to this table. (I had 1ft rollout on in the RaceBox app, so exported the VBO files to VBOX Tool and got times from 0 instead)
“but wait 4WD vs 2WD is unfair” - evolve fanboy?
to be honest the Exway did have an advantage as it was running smaller tyres (165 vs 175). The Atlas Pro was running a 4.3 ratio gear drive which should be similar to Evolve’s stock ratio (14/66? - not sure what motor pulley they use). Nevertheless, that shouldn’t offset a over 3x (200a vs 60a (2WD)) advantage that the Diablo should have compared to the Atlas. Another note is that I’m a fatass (95kg sans gear) so these times are far off what the best possible drag times are for these boards, but since I did these runs back to back they are at least comparable to each other.
Evolve Power Curve Rant
The keen-eyed of you would’ve noticed that the Diablo actually pulls a much higher peak acceleration figure compared to the Atlas. This is from their burst that in my case doesn’t even get me past 1kph (estimated), I assume this is what they get their 200amp rating from and it’s what makes a lot of riders think that their board have a ton of power when really if you just keep holding it nothing happens. I was honestly hoping that this new Diablo would’ve been a better entry to get more people into racing (they are by far the most popular brand in the UK) but with such a minor increase from the Hadean (unfortunately didn’t have one on hand today to get data from), it’s kinda a disappointment that my now 2 year old Atlas will just disappear off the line compared to it.
Dismal attempts to film the runs
Bro wtf your stance is pain
I would fly off the board
Hilarious how it takes exway 4wd on thane to even come close to a proper DIY 2wd board on 8in pneumatics
I’m confused how acedeck has been thrown into this?
Data coming from my end tho
Exway, sorry, can’t tell the difference
There is a big difference, ironically, exway is far behind now
Edit: Trying to export my latest chart but excel mobile isn’t letting me. Hang tight lol
This has been my #1 reason to hate evolve and evolve fanboys
Got a janky looking screenshot for now.
@TZDKB I’m super confused on how you got those times on the 2wd atlas pro. Seems WAY too quick to me.
I tested on stock (175) tires in turbo mode and as you can see below, much slower.
I am about 175lbs
This chart will be in my next review as well and will gain info with every board I test. I’d love to check out the Diablo times but I haven’t gotten my hands on a board yet.
It feels like something is off with your data but I can’t be super sure. My data is all dragy
Maybe the combination of 165 tyres and a lower gearing makes all the difference? You’re lighter than me too, but I’ll re-run the 2WD times next time I’m out on the Atlas just to double check.
Maybe I’ll run both next time haha
It was just so I could get the remote and phone in shot so that there wouldn’t be any disputing the run haha, couldn’t do it on the Atlas tho cause it meant not enough weight to keep the front end down.
Was on 165mm pneumatics but yea, deffo still a big gap between production boards and vesc-based stuff. Though I think the tradeoff is reliability and for me that’s sorta worth it.
We’re on the same gearing, and me being lighter should mean that I would have a FASTER time than you
Which is not the case - and on top of that, the Acedeck N1 and N3 have “slower” times that yours and feel dramatically faster than the Exway atlas Pro, as experienced in my testing, and as shown on my chart above.
All signs point to you being slower than me (minus the 165mm tires), so maybe that does make that much of a difference, but I kind of doubt it. At the same time, the top speed is probably not even 30 on those 165s

This was aimed at Joseph
So true. Got to ride evolve’s new boards this weekend, and they repeatedly (nearly) bucked me off when I touched the throttle starting from stopped (skill issue, I know)
But above 5mph… that power/torque just disappears.
Quite a contrast with vesc, which is often the opposite.
It’s actually quite interesting, riding the Defiant, there’s a ton of great power above 20mph that makes it much more fun than some of the other prebuilts out there
You because you don’t esk8.
