maybe yes but for now our hands are pretty full
Dangit
So sad I missed this⌠If you make another order, me and my roomate would each like one.
Oh no, I missed the rail kit with a few days it seems - just found this thread today
I donât have access to a fancy workshop, so buying something like this would have been perfect for me.
You can still checkout the hoverboard onewheel threads. The inputs on rails are still good
Enginirâs kit does look nice but there is still work to be done by the end user. The big task being to build a battery pack. I ended up buying a kWeld but I have other projects where I need to build battery packs.
My hopes is that if Enginir comes out with a new frame kit in the future that he is able to source motor/wheels with a 6 inch diameter so that standard Onewheel tires will be a direct fit. That would be a really awesome kit.
Yea, I wasnât looking for a complete finished product - Iâm more than willing to do stuff, just donât have access to mills or other fancy machinery
The electric part doesnât bother me, itâs the metal work I would struggle with
Bois, youâre on a DIY onewheel thread on a DIY eskate forum. I mean. Yeah you could go and buy a onewheel, or a cheap funwheel.
Youâve also got tones of people willing to build custom packs for you around here. The only thing you have to do is tell them how much space you have and how much power you want.
Also the p-hub can feet 6 inches tires. But youâre also free to find a hub you like and then build a frame around it.
It just sound to me that you want easy Perfs, without paying for them
My order just arrived, everything looks high quality. Very good packaging and fast shipping. Thanks @Enginir !
The phub-188 this kit is designed for has a 5.5" (diameter) wheel. There is a 3D printed adapter linked in this thread. A 6" diameter tire will not fit directly to the 5.5" diameter wheel.
What chargers are people using/ planning on using?
Iâm looking at options ATM but hard to find much
Enginir says the charging port is a DC 5521.
Havenât bought my charger yet and someone may have a better suggestion but was thinking of a 12S (50.4V) 4A charger similar to this:
Wow they like to inflate prices. That second one is
Iâll have a look about and see what I can get in the uk
They get a little closer after shipping since the Aliexpress one is $30 for shipping and it probably takes a lot longer to receive. Still waiting for my phubâs to start movingâŚ
You donât get free shipping?
Thatâs the only pain with Ali, still waiting on them to send the phub also lol
My DIYonewheel kit came in today. So far everything looks great. One thing I noticed is that the front footpad doesnât have the voltage dividing circuit shown in the assembly video. @Enginir , was this removed because it wasnât necessary?
The internal dimension between the rails is 180mm. The Burris 11x6-6 treaded tire is 180mm at rest. Thinking it will still work with @Remieknaapen 's adapters as the phub-188âs width will probably pull in the sidewalls enough.
Playing around with the batteries at the moment and trying to squeeze a 12s2p 40T pack in there. Could definitely get the battery pack to fit with staggered cells but there is no room for the BMS. Still thinking about spacing the bottom plate down with shims.
Doesnât ship to the US for free. See there is free shipping to the UK.
It was 7 days until I received tracking numbers for my phubâs. My phubâs âshippedâ last Thursday but the tracking numbers donât register yet other than saying the packages are awaiting pickup.
My phub hasnât even been thought about by the looks of it
Ordered the Bluetooth module and was sent straight away lol
Just want the charger and LEDs now before I decide what battery setup to go with. Then Iâll need some kind of welder lol
