LACROIX Stormcore ESC and iOS app info

Mine did this too, also shipped with 6.0 . Always review all settings to match your battery spec

make sure the motors aren’t hitting anything and are secured as that was my issue when doing motor detection.

Only hiccup i noticed was the board was fully set up with sensors, next day before going for a ride one motor wasn’t working, was like a cable got pulled or something. I checked and everything looked fine and the same as i left it, i had to setup the whole thing again - been working fine with no issues since, but i found it kinda odd.

Vesc tool 6.0 it calculates it based on your motor amp detection. 6.02 beta there’s a fix that has a higher multiplier

What motors are you running? Maybe try a different observer ?mxlemming is what I’m on with a 100d2 and reacher motors

Also after detection turn on abs slow current

this is a fw6.0 thing. it automatically tries to detect a new abs max current. really annoying

@Avi it also sets a shitty default for slow current limit start or whatever it’s called. You want that turned on (not off as default).

Tech Question.
How do I get accurate speed reading on the Stormcore app?
I have the correct gear settings for the motor and wheel gears.
The GPS and Stormcore read the same speed when I hold the throttle steady for a while…say 20 mph on both.
But when I accelerate quickly, the Stormcore will read jump to 50 mph while the GPS show 32 mph.

Gps speed and what the app reads natively aren’t gonna match often.

That top speed reading in the stormcore app could have been you full throttle without wheels on the ground as well.

The wheels were on the ground the entire ride, start to finish. and there are many other points during the ride reading the 50 mph.
I figured there was some PID setting that could be set to take an “averaged” reading over a time interval instead of an instantaneous (calculated) reading.

Nope. I’d move to “yours truly” app. I don’t think lacroix is doing any updates to the stormcore app. Also i think it still crashes for a majority of folks who log rides over 20-30miles

Much better!

what’s the actual max motor amps you can run thru a stormcore 100d? can you pull over 100 per side?

Yes, on 16s I had it set to 110a and had no damage, if I floor it it would occasionally overcurrent and cut the power but not all the time.

I set it to 120 for a while and it was fine to but I lowered it back to 110 for the majority of the miles I had on that board.

that’s kinda concerning, esp on my 12s setup where i floor it often…

Yep, that’s why I don’t have it anymore . I’m using an SKP solo and do 140a flawlessly.

I didn’t have any faults when I was at 100a per side on the storm core so if you are worried about that I would try it out. If you blow this thing up don’t get mad at me, I’m just sharing personal experience.

Is there any of you guys able to reach out to Lacroix ?
I do not get any word from them after i send Email to ask about progress of my order from May.
I’m just wonder that they are still in business or not.

Id try the facebook group. One of the owners Alexandre is pretty active there.

@Arch may still roam these pages?

If the only way to reach a company is facebook, that’s a massive red flag.

Yep! Something is going on over there not sure what but Alex does always seem to pop his head up once someone posts something negative over there.

So many Negative Nancy’s round here
It’s summer here in Quebec so I know they’re swamped with orders.
Especially with the fact they now produce another summer toy (the winter toy picks up the pace closer to fall)
Never forget that your emails don’t go to a full blown team of employees. It goes to 1 guy. Give him some time to program and test a few boards and he’ll for sure get to you.

@PROJECTFAP

I’ve seen several reports recently on FB and here about people ordering boards and not receiving anything for months, with poor communication from Lacroix. Constant delays, excuses, refusals to refund money when months go by.

So yeah, people are going to be negative Nancy’s when they fork over thousands of dollars and then get treated like shit.

We don’t accept this kind of behavior from any other vendor in esk8. It’s a Lacroix problem.
