Hello. In your experience. Does the stomcore 60D+ need extra heatsink cooling?
I got one coming my way in the mail right now. Gonna use 10s4p p42a, with 2 x 6384 motors.
(Next year bigger batterypack if its not enough.)
depends on a lot of thing, your weight, how hard you ride, the terrain, gearing, etc
for the most part, i don’t think so, lest you’re like on the heavier side
I’m pushing mine to its thermal limits without a sink and looking to add one as soon as @surfnacho finishes them. I’m on the lighter side but push the amps for long periods of time.
I’d say hold off on it unless you know you’ll be pushing it or are on the heavier side.

I’m 191 cm and 103 kg’s. But not gonna ride hard. Just cruise in inclines and flats.

Is it possible to run the entertion firmware 23.46 on a stormcore 60D?

- Why would you even want to? FW 5.1 and 5.2 have been heavily tested, the few bugs that do exist are pretty well known I think
- I’m pretty sure the answer is no, because the enertion firmware is for a vesc 4 based ESC, so the hardware is completely different.

Firmwares are created to function with the specific components of the ESC.
But the real question is… WHY?

Well.
Firstly.
I’m a simple person.
Some could say Basic even.
But in my mind the Stormcore and the Unity are very similar. ( Not sure how accurate)
I have had some weird random stuff happen on two different boards recently.
Running UNity on vesc firmware 5.01 and 5.02…
Could not get detection to work. Sensor issues…
I flashed entertion firmware and both ran through the set up fine and behaved fine while riding.
Weird stuff…

I just checked with blasto (engineer for both unity and stormcore)
His exact words are:
“No!”
“Science is a bitch”
“Won’t work”
“He’ll brick it”

Kind of a long weird story.
But I had weird ghost in the shell stuff happen to two of my unities running on vesc firmware.
And going back to entertion fixed it.
I’m not smart about this type of stuff so bear with me…
Until these two recent weird issues I was perfectly happy with 5.01 and 5.02
