Hey everyone, Adam here from Lacroix Board Co. We’re looking for input on what the community wants to see changed in the coming years! Do you want more speed, acceleration, reliability, range, a new, unique design, etc.? We know that you can’t have the best boards if you don’t make them for the people, so here’s your chance to give your opinion for the next Lacroix board.
Trucks have evolved.
I would suggest offering an option with @Titoxd1000 Dualitys.
I have 4 Lacroix Boards (Prototipo, Nazarre, Lonestar, and Supersport). I love the Lacroix Decks. The Hypertrucks are good, but I agree with Missouri that trucks have evolved and improved since the Hypertrucks were released years ago. It is difficult for me to think of any improvements because the Supersport is just so darn good as it is. All my Lacroix Boards came with Hoyt Pucks, but I switched them out for Flipsky’s because I like seeing the battery level, speed, and other data. So if there was one improvement I would suggest, it would be a Lacroix Remote. But the Lacroix Remote would also need to work with other boards besides just Lacroix. (I hate it when remotes only work with 1 board). If you develop a Lacroix Remote, it should include ground breaking features like GPS, Bluetooth Paring with the Cell Phone Apps like Strava, Battery Levels, Speed, Average Speed, and whatever else you can think of that no one else has. Hope this helps.
Good, simple, STRAIGHT CUT STEEL gear drives.
also what @rafaelinmissouri said
DIY esk8 / Vesc based - for whatever that maybe worth these days could really use a reliable Trigger remote.
Fancy new radio. And hall sensor trigger.
Similar to the Puck 2.0 but with the trigger form factor. I suppose people would also like telemetry.
let’s not forget that type of remote is a matter of opinion and there is no objectively superior form factor.
I do envy folks that like thumb wheels and can enjoy the puck 2.0.
I just want a piece of that…
But absolutely. Trigger vs thumb wheel vs dual trigger is really personal preference.
I’ve a Lonestar SS and a prototipo carefully modified to house 12S10P 18650. I’m not in thearker fro another pre built, but…
I wish the Lonestar battery was stacked trapezoidally allowing for a slimmer enclosure and lower center of gravity. The motors get hot, but I think you guys have already transitioned from maytech to reacher.
I snap belts constantly too, so agree on steel gears.
I agree on the trucks too. I’d like a narrower front truck, more dampened bushes, as it gets a bit tank-slappy especially with the height. A rear tail light off the shelf would have been nice. Performance is fine, it’s a cruiser - not a race board.
I bought my Lonestar soley because of the range / battery size, and I didn’t have time to do a diy when I imported it.
Not sure how hard it would be. But I’d love to see @RipTideSports Singularity bushings with the Hypertrucks. They’ve proven to completely change how the Matrix 3 feels and I rl wanna try that with the Hypertrucks.
Matrix III and Singularity bushings is another recent evolution in trucks
Hey Adam! I think the biggest improvements I could recommend would be a reliable remote with telemetry. The puck has fantastic connectivity, but the form factor and no board battery indicator is a big draw back. The only other think I can think of is a more budget friendly board. I want to get a taste of the lacroix form with the mountain board deck, great art, and premium build but it’s just out of my price range. I know you’re a premium brand, but having a more budget entry level model would put you more on the map with college kids I feel. Just a thought. Thank you for reaching out to the community for input!!
team up with @Titoxd1000 to put duality trucks on your stock boards.
Check out "Nothing Fancy", A Tito Duality truck build
that board is probably the best riding lacroix in existence and is also a race winner for what it’s worth.
also, like Jackson said, straight cut steel gear drives. The falcon drives have all sorts of issues and are a nightmare to own and work on.
Regarding the Hoyt Puck: People either hate it or love it. I personally hate it. A lot is said about the Hoyt Puck’s connectivity to the board. However, I have 13 boards with all kinds of remotes and I have never had a single connection problem with any of them. That said, the Hoyt Puck does not fit in my hand very well. It’s not uncomfortable, but it’s not comfortable either. If Lacroix is going to compete in today’s ESK8 Market - they are going to need their own “mind blowing great” remote. IMO, from a business standpoint, if Lacroix creates a great remote that works with other boards also, then Lacroix could sell their remote as a separate product as well (opening up a new revenue stream).
Ditto everything that’s been said about dualities.
I’m biased, but this is true. I didn’t know how awesome your decks were/are until @Titoxd1000 brought one out to track with his trucks.
Hypertrucks are the weakest point of Lacroix boards imo.
- the brass/plasic pivot bushing wears often, requiring replacements (and that frequently aren’t easily available/provided out of the box)
- the shoulder bolt requires fine tuning with washers to avoid squishing the pivot bushings. @fessyfoo knows more then I do about this
- every board shipped with the hardest bushings (at least a couple years ago). I actually originally really disliked hypertrucks when I was joining the scene- every board I tried felt like a cargo ship. This leads to riders running them with nearly no preload (so they can turn), causing the board to have no defined center.
- wedge bushing designs aren’t ideal, because they act like lean stoppers, preventing large deck angles. This is why the singularity bushing is so great, and another advantage of dualities
100% agree with the Dualities and straight cut steel gear drives. I’d like to see a lowrider single stack version, of course a double stack option would be good to have as well for range, but a single stack that just about doesn’t scrape on turns would be the best you could do for ride feel with an undermount. (ideally axle inline with standing platform if ground clearance allows for that)
I’d like to add that teaming up with @georgebenett for remotes would be something I’d love to see.
I told them that already a while back hopefully more people say that and they listen ![]()

Easy to say that everyone would want to see duality’s and straight cut steel gear drives now it’s up to lacroix to listen to the builders and possible customers in here realistically most of us are builders here and we speak from builder experience we have duality’s already from @Titoxd1000 what as builders we want is a reliable straight cut steel on steel enclosed gear drive that’s light weight and is ready to be used on a diy builds of ours that was we can support @Adamvos and lacroix because the reality here is about 5% of people here might be buying a full lacroix maybe a higher percentage but very little someone correct me if I’m wrong but most of us build and want a cool good gear drive for our builds a reliable remote and esc that’s it
Agreed on:
- Remote options
- Straight cut gears
- Duality trucks
Lacroix decks are pretty damn magical as-is. I’d leave those alone.
Respect for making this post. Can’t argue with anything that’s been mentioned so far…
One thing I will add… go look at /r/electricskateboarding … do you see the trend of top posts over the past 2 months? Water, snow, rain, ice… sure some riders are naive by just how easy it is for a small amount of moisture to penetrate + wreck a board; I was one of them and it cost me a couple boards for sure. But many of them are well aware of the risks but choose to ride anyway…because it what we do.
There’s IP67 foils, bikes, scooters, uc’s, onewheels, etc… but nothing for us. Hell even the Vendetta is ip67 (a tracked board) and that’s one guy and a garage. I understand the build challenges and potential post-sale nightmares but as a few DIY builds here have shown…it’s doable.
You’ll be first to market (that I’m aware of) a waterproof esk8 which is huge in its own right; meeting a need AND solving a problem.
Doesn’t have to be a performance board in my opinion; I’d ride on dowel rods and Dixie cups if I didn’t have to worry about moisture.
You might want to check out what kman is cooking up with the OLED v2 Z-mote as well. Could be a good fit and save you some R&D!
The reason manufacturers don’t do this is because a “waterproof” system not only adds a lot of cost, complexity and time testing, but adds a big risk to the manufacturer because marketing something as waterproof means warranty replacements when something fails, and it only takes a user error during maintenance or even just a screw vibrating loose because Loctite decided not to cure.
