Meanwhile mine is still in production after a month. Such is being handmade I guess…
And that remote is so tiny you can swallow it if needed …
Yep , I actual have a carrying case with me at all time because I fell that I could lose it .
@sofu How are these trucks holding up? Has anything broken? Are you noticing any wear? Has the range went down? How often do you use them? Do you still have them? Is this too many questions? Would you buy them again? Are you going to do a “6 months later review”? (aka: the best kind of review, albeit the least numerous type)
Does your board ride low?
Does it wobble to and fro?
Can you stop it on a dime?
Can you charge it any time? (how’s the USB C charging)
dibs on taking them half the price to try and change the battery if the specs goes down
@RipTideSports This is surely the next greatest innovation in bushing and truck technology correct?
Maybe firmware upgrade the bushings
That’s probably the best shit ever if you live in
Unfortunately not. In my area this trucks would be useless. I hate to be that guy, bc this is an awesome idea and product. I hate to be that guy again, but I bet I waste the whole thing within a minute. I cant imagine the hangers could take much impact. Overheating is another point.
All that sayed, its a good board to get into eskate (except for the dollars), nice innovation and a ring remote.
I want it please release it as a standalone UART version @jaykay (unfortunately not existant here
)
tried, 73 Kg, 8km urban trip on different flat grounds, best carving experience on perfect asphalt (vanguard, 2x). It’s a joy, it seems almost an analogic board.
Maybe my buttocks are too sensitive but @ about 15 Km/h sensig algo is already slightly noticeable on less than perfect ground: noticed it on some occasions: perfect tarmac with uneven planarity and especially this:
just for reference this is the kind of ground where even on a non esk8 board it gets very loud (lumps are about 0.5mm or less): you just sense that the algo is already at work trying to understand if the rider is still on board or not. It works very good, but acceleration is not super smooth as on perfect ground.
Being a trigger guy I was very skeptical about my ability to modulate the micro remote sensitively (that’s make the difference between a controlled braking and a crash). I had no problem at all from the very beginning, I found immediately the right position of my index so to lock the remote in a firm position and simply let the thumb slide on the lever without folding it. For sure there’s some serious ergonomic design thinking in this remote: not everybody are capable of folding the thumb in order to modulate precisely acceleration /deceleration, with this remote you can choose: if you are a thumb guy you just use it, if you are a trigger guy you just have to hold your thumb and clench your index in order to achive the same movement on the lever.
Dragless/free rolling
Trucks were brand new and they were dragless for sure, but the free rolling of a normal thane wheel is another thing: after all the lightness of this experience pushing seemed a bit like bodybuilding, I don’t know, maybe they need a bit of running in, but maybe not, in the end these are hubs and have their own inertia.
Nice! Any pics of your setup/deck?
I’ve had the trucks for a few months now, but only rode 100km or so 'cause of working from home.
For a first/last mile board I wish they gave you the option to just start from stationary at the cost of battery, gets awkward with any incline, you’ll start pushing, get to speed, and by the time you’ve placed your foot back on the board it might’ve slowed to below the threshold. Rather a few kilometers of power and stability than trying to squeeze out the improbable 12-15km out of 4x2 cells.
I feel like this just doesn’t work for me well. Tried going up a relatively steep path, had full throttle but still couldn’t make it, so of course the board slowed down and started rolling backwards. As I stepped off the board hit the 4km/h threshold … going backwards and shot off, learned not to do that again.
Think I’ll go back to the Exway, at 6.2kg Jaykay + Deck vs 7.5kg Exway Belt Drive just ain’t worth it enough, not to mention the vibrations you get from 4WD hubs…
If unhappy I’d like to buy them and give a try
Same, let me know if you’re looking to sell them.
