Probably safe to say that’s out of the question, they’re under-recovering as it is with their current below Kickstarter price, and the near to mid term financial outlook for the whole world sucks rn.
I’d go as far as to say, if you’re considering the kit, then buy a couple sets replacement wheel sleeves.
now not for sure. I meant in the future if they get all the things right and survive for the next year as company. I think once the technology is established they will have a couple of years of good profit, afterwards someone else oversea will make it for 1/3.
I really love the ocncept and I do use esk8 mostly as commuter, but I stil llike the DIY process way too much.
With this, the only DIY is potentially building your own deck.
yes excatly. Which I like it a lot. Designed 3 decks so far, but still would miss all the rest.
DIY a vesc that fits in the truck, with an OSRR RX in the baseplate? Now that would be awesome!
yeh that is not the work for me. On thing that I am totally limted is develop electronics and coding. I am a master of following tutorials though . Last time to write a Arduino code for a spotwelder took me 2 hours. Such a dumb-ass
Ah yes, i see what you mean now. I think that will be allright? Dont think they are good for kickflips though
I’m surprised for the money that the trucks are cast and not machined billet.
I think its very hard to machine such deep cuts(half the hanger deep), you need loooong ass bits for that. Can also not be forged bc its hollow.
Edit: maybe it can be forged
@sofu
I quote from their website:
“The data exchange between the two trucks and the smartphone or smartwatch takes place via bluetooth”
But can’t find any app? Does exist? Or what they mean by that statement?
Right. There’s no app yet they told me
Can’t wait for battery technology to evolve so that we can squeeze loads more capacity into the same footprint. These guys are a few years too early!
From one side it’s very good that they are early, when they master design and electronics only what will hold theirs innovation will be battery technology.
Hope their product will survive and will more to come.
Got some more replies from JayKay. They’re 160kv motors with a winding resistance of 90mOhm
Interesting. I guess makes sense due to low voltage. Not even the lowest internal resistance in the motor. We must miss something in the technology we use
@sofu in your review, it’d be completely rock-solid if you handed the board to some old fart who knows exactly zero about longboarding and ask them how fast they think it goes, or ask them any question to try and see if they think it’s electric, — without planting the notion that it could be - into the their head.
Basically test the stealth factor on some unsuspecting individual. Just tell them it’s an interview about new stuff coming this Christmas shopping season, and ask them to describe it
This would be cool. Would also love to see this go through airport security (not that I expect that for the review)
