iWonder Discovery 120D Cloudwheel discussion

Didn’t take long did it? You definitely have A LOT of work to do.

Goodluck with all those new contracts y’all currently have… My recommendation? Release a video acknowledging the fact that you messed up AGAIN and are working to fix the problem AGAIN. Full-disclosure is the only thing left that can keep people’s faith in y’all.

@rafaelinmissouri I’m sorry they didn’t work out for you. Thank you for being an honest tester.

And @Hide… I’d suggest you stop acting so arrogant if you plan on keeping ANY of your existing customers. Riders want a brand which they can trust, not one that hides behind excuses and is always finding something to put the blame on:shushing_face::face_with_monocle:

@rafaelinmissouri can you tell me what the temperature was during your ride. We have had a cold spell here. It’s been snowing for the last three days. Has the temperature dropped suddenly in your city?

Also, can you snap a picture of the list of ingredients in your toothpaste. I’m skeptical about toothpaste degrading plastic and I can’t imagine toothpaste having solvents in it. Baking soda and peroxide yes. Solvents, not really.

You did not use brasso did you? Becasue brasso does have solvents.

Here is the toothpaste I used

It was a tiny bit. It is shit I put in my mouth and it was not the Crux of the wheel failing…

It has been perfect weather here in Missouri.
Between 50 and 70f…

Thanks @rafaelinmissouri . So eliminating temperature and solvents it seems to be back to the choice of plastic.

Hey @rafaelinmissouri, allof those pictures were of one wheel right? Can you pop the bearings out of the other wheels and look for cracks starting inside the bearing sockets?

Yes.
One wheel.
Other front wheel does not have similar cracks. I had checked.

Out of curiosity. What pulleys are you guys running with these wheels!? There is no way in heaven any of the pulleys I have will work with these cores without having to drill . Damn.

I just wanted to express a few words of encouragement for @Hide. Sending wheels out to beta testers was a really good decision. It must be painful to see the wheels crack. However, it will be much less expensive in the long run compared to creating another large production run of wheels that would not be durable. Your customers can also see that you are approaching the new product with strong testing and concern for consumer safety.

@rafaelinmissouri. Can you put different wheels on the front and continue stress testing the rear wheels?

These are not betas tho. They are for sale on the site anyone can buy them.

Cool they sent them to people who can objectively test them… but these are out in the wild already.

No.
But if @Hide sends me a new set I will put them on rotation and go through the inspecting and reporting again.

Yes, I know. The order of operations is not perfect. At least the serious road testing is happening early. Its an improvement compared to the past. But yes, it would have been ideal to do beta testing on a small pre-production run. Perhaps this will be a protocol for the future.

Dickyho bolted pulleys. 6 bolts. They fit in either side of the spoke.

Damn. That’s nice. I have 3Dservisas and Tb bolt on ones. Neither fit. I had to DIY the shit out of them :grimacing:. Tb ones fit now

I’m running pressfits, so we’ll see if pulley type has any bearing on things.

What exactly did you have to mod to make them fit?
