Inexpensive Pneumatic Belt Setup with 6 inch Clever tires

1500km Update

I just happen to take the wheels off my, almost 2 year old, first pneumatic board to replace a broken belt. I am amazed how the 3D printed ABS pulley (teeth coated with super glue) looks and fits like it’s new. Even the layer lines are visible after almost 1500km. I had made a detailed post on this on the builder’s forum in August of 2018 and thought it might be of interest to people who would rather spend $80 on pneumatic wheels and not $200 to begin with. I haven’t yet changed the bearing and it seems smooth enough. Also the clever tires last for ever and are mostly flat free, IF YOU FILLET/CHAMFER THE EDGE OF THE RIM WHERE THE VALVE COMES OUT.

Replacement Tires

Replacement tires are very very cheap(~$5 for tire and tube) if you buy from taobao.
Some guy even bought them shipped for $3.8 per set.

That is good to know, that they are so reliable. I was wondering if you were still rocking the Cheap ass wheels.
Thanks for the update.

Did you do it by hands with a file?

If those screws in the corner is what you used then they are definitely not the right ones. It will just pass through the whole thing like it looks like it did.

I even provided the list of hardware, so what happened? You got impatient and had to try it what you had at home/local hardware store?

:flushed:

That’s extremely unexpected. Wow

Thank you for sharing this

I happen to have a set of the hubs and pulleys if someone wants to buy the tires/tubes. I’m now using Haggy stuff, so I was gonna get rid of the other stuff eventually.
