Is it still going to have better performance than https://bustinboards.com/products/sportster-hybrid-v3-stealth?gclid=Cj0KCQiA3fiPBhCCARIsAFQ8QzWSd2-en-LrWdBYOkN4CmH3VyRvfI58QcrKDaLYdg4RMnHtI7I_kpUaAn3ZEALw_wcB ?
its still going to have the performance of a flipsky 6.7 single belt drive no matter what you do to it. you can heatsink it, itll help, but itll still have its limitations. personally, i am not a fan of single drive anything at all, but finish it, ride it, and upgrade it or build or buy another later.
This is an extremely subjective term
well, imo it is, considering Ben works for/with trampa.
I defiantly consider
I *will definitely consider it
I can’t tell what’s on both sides of that board and what I’m actually seeing in your photos but it looks like, for that device, you can’t. All you can do is pull a little bit of heat from the black cases (bodies) of the MOSFETs.
Or perhaps the MOSFETs are bent over and exposing the metal plates on their “back” that the heat sink can touch?
Basically, all you can do is replace the existing heat sink with another that might offer slightly more heat removal.
so its a no go on the blue heat sink?
I’ll probably just return the blue sink and later in the year I"ll pick up a better vesc from makerx, maybe on black Friday or something.
Of course you can use it but I don’t think it’s going to do much. If you do I recommend cutting it in half since it’s just not thick enough to move heat for inches.
I have seen a few people do this, where they put weather foam between each series in their batteries. What are your thoughts?
P.s I am planning on making a flexible battery so any tips will be great.
I have a question about the angel of my trucks.
right now I have caliber 2 50’ trucks. The problem I am having is that the board touches the motor mount if I turn too hard. I can lower the mount but I am worried about not getting enough clearance from the ground. Also I heard that its better to have different angels on the front and back trucks. I can return the trucks and get different caliber 2s. Any Ideas would be great, thanks you again for all your awesome help.
“Better” varies, depending on your goals. What is the board’s top speed? What deck is it? How good of a skater are you?
Would it touch the motor itself if the mount was somehow not there? Is the clearance issue confined to the mount itself, or also the motor, or also the transmission or something else?
I’d just add risers, get harder bushings, or sand cutouts into the deck. Going a lower angle would actually bring the deck even closer because trigonometry.
According to the esk8 calculator its 30mph and 27 weighted.
I would like to think I am pretty decent, I have been riding for about 7 year and had an esk8 for about 4.
it is hard to tell but I would think so, I haven’t ran the board with the motor on it yet I still have to build the battery.
I have .5 inch risers
