This is all I could find. Sharing to save people time / go follow Hoyt on instagram!
I’ve thought a lot about this.
Even just carving and turning puts a lot of lateral pressure on the bearings.
I would hypothesize that they never became big with longboards and skateboards because of the price. I’ve seen them in the range of $12-$25 each for angular contact 708A. 8x22x7wide
We’re talking about at least $100-$150 for a set of bearings
Shoutout to our good friends at Hoyt St. for generously donating a Midnight Puck to the BOTY 2020 prize pool.
Appreciate the support!
@JJHoyt congrats on your purchase of metroboard
By chance are you going to stock the 155?
I need some and if so how long thanks
Yes but we’re still jumping through the legal hoops. Going to be a few months.
wait what??
Did you miss that haha
They’re both in oregon so I think they merged
Absolutely!
I haven’t seen anything about that. Is there some post or news article?
I couldn’t think of a better match!
Here are the two statements on Metroboard Facebook group :
TL;DR : not a merger, still two differents brands identities with talented people behind them, some on both.
haha, wrong on both counts! Metro is in Vancouver, WA. And not a merger, both companies remain separate entities.
Lol woops. Apparently my information was incorrect. Either way, looks like both parties will benefit
Everyone knows that Vancouver is Portland-Lite, Jeff
Congrats on making this big move! I’m really excited to see where y’all take the Hoyt and Metroboard brands from here. Exciting times!
lovingly referred to as Vantucky on this side of the river. Lolz.
dangit where the did you say that the Metro tire was getting a slight revision in diameter?
@JJHoyt ah shoot this should not be in the Hoyt. st thread oh well.
Linkin
@JJHoyt What are the inner diameters of the 5" & 7" tires? I want to confirm if these are compatible with hubs I already have like Bergs, 6 shooters, MBS, etc. While your hubs also look really nice and high quality, my pesky budget says I can only have tires. And I want both sizes.
just scroll up they totally went over that.
jk got you
For the record, the new Metro 153s should be identical to the original 155s. The 155s weren’t exactly 155mm and we just need a way to differentiate as I expect the vendor to flood the market with the old product. But theirs wont be speed rated and their quality issues will continue.
