Honey Badger Build

I can’t find these on his website, where did you get flat profile offroad tires?

Edit: NVM found 'em, just not listed on the sidebar.

3-28-25 update

I wanted to add some sort of display to the honey badger build. I was looking at the Megan, but looking like $325 shipped.

So I dug into the parts bin and found an old Davegax screen that I think still worked.

Since Davega was discontinued, I modeled and printed out my own case.

Super impr ssed with the A1 mini. I never thought I’d be able to get the lettering to fit. 1st try and it popped right in.

That is really creative, nice job!

Super cool with the inset lettering! Did you glue it in or just friction fit?

I thought I would need glue them, but the fit is so tight I don’t think I need to.

Quick Update

Swapped the reacher 7490 171kv out for flipsky 6384 140kv. I had these in the parts bin and they seemed to have solved my thermal throttling issue.

Added some custom mounts on the back for olight tail lights

Made a custom mount for olight headlight up front

Installed 20 mm belts. (20t motor 68t wheel)

Ordered some reacher 6485 173kv.

Wiring for flipsky motors is temporary since I’ll be swapping them again. I printed a thicker gasket with cutouts for the wires. Still looks reasonably clean to hold me over until I do it up for real again

Ditched the flipsky 6384s and added some Reacher 6485 173 KV.

Got my cables cleaned back up. Soldering the weipu SA8 6 pin was a bitch for the sensor wires.

Created a hard TPU wire channel to protect the Davega cables, same thing for the power wires.

Cut my carbon fiber vesc enclosure to panel mount a connector on the bottom for Davega cable. I use a jewelers saw for making cuts like this in carbon fiber plate.

Basically caling this one done at this point. I just need to come up with a name.

How does the 200x70 fits on the Hubba hubs? Did you had to 3d print a lip for them?

yes, to get it centered. Also they are just barely wide enough. you need to compress the rubber a little bit until the hub bolts can grab and suck the two halves together.

Hubba Hub Tire Spacer.stl (60.4 KB)

STL for spacer is here if you need it

What filaments do you recommend using for this?

Personally I don’t think it matters. I think mine are pla+ they aren’t taking up any load, just centering the tires during mounting.

Once the tires are pressurized I do think the ring is doing anything at all as the friction of the rubber is holding against the rim.

If you wanted to make absolutely sure that it doesn’t deform under the summer heat and heating of tires. Then use petg or nylon cf or pet cf.

Pet cf is my favorite high temp filament, but it is abrasive so you should have a hardened nozzle. Petg would be fine

Quick question about your tire spacer. Did you designed it specifically to work with the 200x70 off road tires or will it work for any 4in rim tires?

I designed it using that tire for dimensions. But I would think that it would work with any tire that is 4"

So I tried them on the 200x70 offroad tires and they fit like a glove. But on my set of 8in slick they don’t rl wanna fit, feels like they’re a tad too big. Maybe when I actually put them on they might pop into it when I pump up the tires.

I wonder if anybody has created a hub spacer for rockstar 2s…?

Most likely tbh, just need to look around.

You mean like to make it wider overall?

I think my 8" cst did not require any spacer.

I think if it’s 4" inner diameter and you inflate it and spray the bead with soapy water, you will probably get it to seat.

I’ll be away for a week, but when I get home I can model one slightly smaller.

I mean make it wide enough for 200x70 tires.
