(AU) Help me find a pre-made board

Not really. Then again, it all depends on what you label “off road”

I’ll just clarify for the sake of the thread, when I say AT/offroad, I mean exploring hiking tracks (compact dirt, maybe tree roots), bailing off the bike track onto the grass when the concrete has potholes etc. Definitely not rough rocks, beach, untamed forest, or anything like that.

I looked at kaly but they’re out of stock or out of my price range.

With the Baja S2 my biggest concern is if the trucks get damage, they look like hell to fix. Can anyone comment on that?

@longhairedboy Do you do AT setups around my price range? Should I contact you via PM?

You might have to wait a few hours for his response :joy::rofl:

@Hobz Lacroix isnt suited for that.

Un-trampas, @Kaly, @longhairedboy, @MBS and even Colab are great boards for off road/trail riding. Lots of different possibilities out there.

But seeing as you are “new to the hobby”, are you considering the learning curve with a board of the above mentioned? These are powerful boards and would not suit a new esk8r to learn on.

Whats your experience with sk8ing?

Spent my childhood at the skatepark, but It’s something I grew out of about 5-10 years ago. I honestly don’t know how well the skills transfer, but dropping in off an 8ft half pipe was something I was doing almost everyday. Worst comes to worst, you can tune down the throttle response right?

Also trail riding wasn’t something I was setting out to do heavily, it’s just an option I’d like to have in the future. To be honest, I’m more concerned with potholes/dodgy pavement, and having options other than bailing in my work gear.

I know I’ll probably be kicking myself in 6 months for not grabbing that Psychotiller, but I don’t think second hand is best considering I may really rely on support at some stage.

I’ll check out those other builders.

I have to side with others here…get that board. It is a beauty. Support is easy as 1,2,3. Post the problem and well help you fix it fully

Just don’t ask him to make you a board with channel trucks.

Not going to lie, if a few more people give the +1 on that psychotiller i’ll pull the trigger on it. Is it suitable for AT? Does it meet my other criteria?

It’s a great board, I just don’t know how hyped Sam is gonna be on shipping that far. You would definitely have to cover all the fees

My destination, my problem, totally fine with that.

Sweet, I would say it’s a perfect all around board. It can do medium off road meaning trails and dirt/gravel. But you’re not gonna take it into the mountains like a trampa

Can’t really go wrong with a Psychotiller build, I mean, his boards got 1st, 2nd and 3rd place recently :joy:.

I think it meets all your requirements. Don’t expect it to be waterproof. It’s basically a DIY it’s just that someone reputable built it for you.

As for “all-terrain” this uses 6 inch tires. You can always get bigger wheels, pulleys and belt to make it handle tougher terrains

Maybe if I decide to step up to more off terrain tracks, that can be my first DIY challenge.

Have you looked at bioboards and haggy?

And please dig around so you understand the lead times of various vendors before you commit. Try to buy one that’s made already if you’re sensitive to delays.

Real off road is best suited for top mounted electronics to give maximum clearance
