So the anti-Torqueboards discussion turned into a good deals thread?
How weak are we
Iāll split the difference
Took a chance on a $20 set of ānew and unusedā paris trucks from his clearance section a few days ago and the axles were only slightly bent. Hooray!
āDex went downhill, I dont recommend buying from him anymore.ā

āHoly shit look at all these hot deals!ā
Itās like how people used to stage locomotive crashes in the olden days for entertainment, except the crowd is also hoping to get a set of wheels from the rubble
Nailed it
I mean to be fair, a lot of them arenāt his products, and the ones that are, are discounted lol
Might as well risk it for the deal I guess
Should be put on a shirt for describing the memory of our community.
OOO⦠i think this is the first gen eco drive⦠aka I think it fits apex air / moon luna
So what?
I was under the impression that this community was turned off by a pattern of bad behavior from TB, not bad products. Isnāt that the whole point of this thread?
It seems to me that folks would have been more than happy to forgive TBās QC issues if they had been handled in a professional way. It was only when Dex started throwing around ālearn to fall betterā and shit like that, that folks decided to stop giving TB their business.
My post was pointing out how this community seems to have a very poor memory regarding blacklisted vendors. As soon as some shiny deals are on the table, all is forgiven.
āVote with your wallet,ā indeed ![]()
Or maybe they just donāt care
This is also true tho
Plenty of people still buy their wheels soooo I guess youāre right
I havenāt gotten anything in a while from them but as far as buying old used stuff who cares
As far as Iām concerned, theyāre in a downward spiral though, I donāt know how much longer the company will be around
Plenty of people still buy Boaās from Bogan. Plenty of people still buy unities from Jason. Plenty of people bought Neohubs from BoganJeffWu. Plenty of people still buy psychotiller batteries.
Hell, Iām sure that MomentumBoards (the bad one) still sells boards now and again.
For sake of argument
90% of the people that buy those wheels probably donāt know this community exists, or care
Lol thatās completely different but sure
Isnāt he in jail?
Iām not trying to bash anyone for choosing to buy this gear. Iām just hoping for some moral consistency. If someone decides to not support TB because of a pattern of bad behavior, and then completely forgets about that as soon as thereās ādealsā on the table, thatās sad. Itās also what allows all the scummy scammy vendors from esk8 past to come crawling back.
Iām not lumping TB in with those others, I think the severity of the wrongdoing is on a very different level.
part of the reason that i will not trust Dexās product again: my brand new 12s4p battery took a full charge in, left it alone for 1 week, when i came back around to test fit everything, it just wonāt discharge. i contact dex about it, never heard back, not even once. there is no matter of professional way can make it right when his(my) battery died before it even went in the board. its just simply a shit product to start with
Oh I see
Yah I mean as far as morals go, one person being a dick doesnāt make that much of an impact
Not delivering products and having faulty stuff are worse imo
Like how certain issues werenāt fixed, even though they were brought up. We know the story. TB is near the end.
Questions I ask: Did the vendor deliver, did the product work properly, do they support it.
I donāt think dexter should have been answering CS at all with the attitude that he had lol
Why are people still buying his crap? I get that throwing money away is part of esk8, but thereās doing it unwittingly and doing it when there are 100 threads like this everywhere. Itās the difference between ignorance and stupidity.
Absolutely, thatās a bad battery and a bad experience to have as a customer. And you are totally justified in never doing business with TB again after that, no matter how they respond to the issue.
In my opinion, the āprofessionalā response would have been for TB to apologize for the situation, immediately send you a properly working replacement at their own cost, and adjust their QA/QC process to ensure that they dont send out any more bad batteries. If they had done all of that and you still chose to not give them business again, you would still be totally justified. Though Iām guessing it probably would have left you feeling at least a bit better than you do now.
Obviously we have all seen over and over again (bending motor mounts, bending DD hangers, no loctite on DD axles, delaminating wheels, etc. etc. etc.) that TB has a pattern of not responding this way. Thatās exactly what I mean by āunprofessional behavior.ā The ālearn to fallā stuff is just turd icing on that shit cake.
I believe that if TB had responded professionally (as outlined above) to their QC issues, they would still be a loved and respected vendor today. Maybe Iām wrong about that, but in my view itās how you respond to a mistake that says more about you than whether you made one in the first place.
Yeah, exactly. TB has a pattern of failing at all three of those things.

The better half got a good laugh at it too
i would even have been fine if i had to pay shipping to send the dead battery back to the factory, since it was sent directly to me and i (used to) knew the address for it, since it doesnāt cost that much if i get a working battery right away. but i guess me being probably the only one in my country to buy his shit, he gave 0 fuck about my experience.
im usually reluctant on bashing on vendor directly, but hell, Dex is just bad at his job, he may have had good product before, but man, the purchase experience is pure crap, and there is 0 CS for real. the fastest respond i ever got from him was, when i asked which paypal email address to send the extra shipping cost, that email came in before i finish pooping.
