Does anyone know if anyone is selling a heat sink for the Go-FOC D100s?
you probably dont need one for it, unless you’re pushing it real hard
Id like to anyway just to play it safe. Trying to make a 20s drift trike.
In that case buy/find a piece of aluminum sheet and drill some holes in it. No reason to spend 80 dollars on a fancy piece of metal when you aren’t size constraint
I don’t have a problem spending 80 dollars on something cleaner.
Is this what you’re looking for?
I guess on this you have to drill your own holes?
It seems that way, I’m a tad confused since it says pre drilled holes for DV4S and D100S but then goes on to say you need to drill your own holes.
My best guess is it’s a 2 piece system in which the mounting plate (part that directly attaches to the VESC) has holes drilled in the mounting pattern of the DV4S and the D100S but the bottom plate (heat sink part with actual fins) doesn’t have any holes for the screw heads.
Again, haven’t used this before, just a guess.
That said, is there anything stopping you from ignoring the fastener mounting system and using thermal adhesive/tape? That’s what I generally use since I don’t find myself changing vescs out very often. I haven’t tested side by side but I suspect the thermal transfer is plenty with tape or adhesive.
(Though I suspect I don’t ride hard enough to even require a heat sink in the first place)
Id just rather play it safe yeah ill have to look into it. Thanks for the help.
I have a couple if you like my design.
Show : )
I race my d100s at 20s, pushing near its limit.
It’s sealed into my cf enclosure with no heat sink. Haven’t had any issues.
I ran that Bioboards heatsink on my Zelda build with a D100S. Worked great. Large and chunky so plenty of mass to dissipate heat. If I remember right, the holes are there for the D100S but you just need to finish drilling them out through the bottom so you can run screws up through it and into the ESC. They aren’t drilled through all the way from Bioboards because someone isn’t using that esc they wouldn’t want exposed holes in their heatsink.
You can buy silicone heat sharing tape. Would share link but I bought it in local shop and fix my Vesc well.
Im trying to cut a hole in a trampa massive monster box for it. Im trying to make a trampa drift trike but decked out with 20s battery, bn gear drives. Reacher motors and newbee hubs.
Oh, sorry about that, I confused it with the stormcore 100
