Headlight vs shredlights or other skatemount lights

Following a reddit thread what’s your take on this.
By using a head light, helmet or forehead mount u can get thousands of lumens versus shredlights few hundred.
Also avoiding shaking and disturbing shadows appearing from small rocks and obstacles on the road

Glad to hear your input and experience, cheers Marius

It’s a PiA to where a light in a helmet, it throws your balance off, makes your helmet slide. That being said to get good coverage you need to higher or use more power.

Lacroix’s headlights are incredible. I’ve had more that one person tell me it looks like a motorcycle at night.

2200 lumens each, solid aluminum construction, industrial grade connectors.

I have 8 boards, 2 more in process, have built dozens and the LaCroix Lonestar is the finest price of esk8 machinery I’ve ever ridden. It’s elegant and bullet proof, the only way I know to describe it.

Absolutely. You will be seen and more importantly you can see.

More of a DIY guy myself, but definnetely gonna implement more of their products in my builds

Can you integrate them on an ESC (Unity for example) ?

I guess this forum would be better to ask for unity settings than Lacroix, since they currently are working on their own ESC release, wich is the biggest esk8 news of 2020 as I see it

Mecanically speaking however, u can implement their trucks wheels bearing lights and so on

I meant turning them on and off though the remote (like the boosted beams)

Just look at this thing of ingenuity beauty

I know right, these are gonna be in a build of mine some day

@Arch can u answer this ?

No, there remotes that support that function via a 2nd channel, some require an inline switch.

I personally have never seen the need for a remote switch. Typically you turn lights on, then ride, turn them off when you get home.

I got a headlight on my helmet and it doesn’t bother me at all personally. It’s super bright and by far the most useful light for illuminating the road in my setup.

The nice thing about a headlight is it looks where you look. I put GoPro mounts on my helmets and attach the lights to those so I don’t have to carry the headlight during the day.

I agree, having the light up high blinds people when you talk to them but nothing helps you see better than having one pointing where you are looking.
