Hey guys! Long time no see! Iā€™m so sorry about not posting any updates, explanation incoming. I hope the one person reading this is having a great day! If not then just remember that the past is history, tomorrow is a mystery, and your in the present. Make tomorrow a good day!

Alright so - Dash why have you not posted on this thread? Well, as some of you know I messed up my ankle a couple weeks ago, which meant Iā€™ve been stuck in a boot for the past two weeksā€¦ It comes off Friday though!

Iā€™m feeling healed up already, but doctors orders. Itā€™s a sprain above my growth plate, so if I dont wear the boot Iā€™m almost guaranteed to fracture my ankle :disappointed: So boot was the only optionā€¦

Before you click off, I actually did a solid amount of building over the past couple weeks! Pics incoming laterā€¦

Letā€™s start off with Apple Valley and the races. @BenChieffen and @MoeStooge have kept us all informed and theyā€™re a go for May 8th! Iā€™m excited yet scared, my board will be super slow compared to everyone else (Iā€™m geared for a measly 40mph sadly) and my boot comes off the week beforeā€¦ Stiff ankles will be no bueno, but its worth going and having fun with everyone!

EMTB! - Aka Air Control:
Been lucky enough to get my hands on an @Haeroboards Bro 96 AND @ApexBoards Apex Air trucks. Awaiting the trucks, but in the mean time I am in the process of setting up the Bro for AVS (Dirt around the track so fun to screw around with. Iā€™d show pics of the EMTB but the workshop is a MESS right now.

ONEWHEEL!!!
@fessyfoo gave me his float wheel kit! We both expected it to take me ages to build, but my ankle meant I had all the time in the world. Itā€™s not a PITA to build, but its not necessarily easy or for people who want it done quick. Doesnā€™t help that I used some Land-Surf Fangs as the bumper instead of the Pint bumper it was designed for.

Thank you Matt Hoover for donating those for the float wheel build. Iā€™m super excited to ride this next week, its just awaiting a battery and two good ankles so it can be ridden! Spent yesterday programming it and using Balance mode for the first time (Surprisingly easy to do (@b264))

ill keep yā€™all updated on the one wheel stuff!

Next up, ground control?
Still awaiting my upgrade crap from @yelnats8j although itā€™s not his fault its taking awhile. FedEx is being a PITA to work with to get the stuff to me. Jameson has been transparent the whole time and is working to get our FedEx problem solved.

Next up, Dashā€™s Neo venture!
I was gifted some scuffed and destroyed neohubs from @eicarumba with the challenge to make them workā€¦ So with some epoxy, soldering, and a little bit of pressure, the hubs AND destroyed sensors work like new!

Ive got an awesome board planned for them and I cant wait to get it built up and show it off!

Raceboard time!
Everythingā€™s moving slow on this frontā€¦ ESCā€™s for it are in testing, motors are being decidedā€¦ Just a mess, but its slowly coming together. Currently @mmaner is working on our design for it, and @Sender will be applying it!

Along with that the raceboard will sport a @janpom Davega X (of course) and an @DerelictRobot @FreeSK8-Foundation Robogotchi and OSRR/Freesk8 remote!

Very excited! Especially since itā€™ll be sporting an @BenjaminF battery pack!

Thatā€™s all for now, well, as far as you guys know  Have a great rest of the day or night and I wish your builds good luck!

That is what paragliding is  (atleast how we have to do it in the nlā€™s)

Im also very curious as to your geardrive @DEEIF

I suspect its going to be open gears? (But i hope not)

Hope your feeling better bro. Weā€™re gonna hook you up with a bunch of bubble wrap for the race. Youā€™ll be good to go.

For the Emtb? Iā€™m gonna try out open gear drive, @NullBlox is cutting the plates I made soon! Itā€™s a moon drive currently but I want it to be lighter so Iā€™m seeing how much weight it saves :man_shrugging:

GOD DAMMIT I SUCK AT DOING THESE ON TIME!!!

Welllll good newsssss! Iā€™m all cleared for AVS!!! Boots off, boards running good enough, and thereā€™s enough tire pressure in the wheels! All is as good as can be over here at Casa Astro

Iā€™m so excited for this weekend!! Iā€™m gonna be putting some bigger pinions in if I have the time tmw, want to have some fun on the track!!! I think we are limiting our speeds though, so Iā€™ll have to figure that out (@b264 do you know how?)

I also took Mr @fessyfooā€™s ProtoLinko out for a ride today, got stranded because I didnā€™t charge it all the wayā€¦ Karma for stealing Fessā€™ boardā€¦ It IS a fun board though!!

OneWheel!

Itā€™s completed!! Stormcore 100S from @Winfly and @sofu (Thank you guys!!) and 12s for now (@JoeyZ5 is working on a 16s pack for me)

Iā€™m LOVING the Floatwheel, Iā€™ve been on two rides so far and already learned (small) curb drops AND 180ā€™s!!! So. Much. FUN!

Air Control!

Haero Bro Deck and Apex air is on it! Sending/giving @RipTideSports the other truck to play around with! Waiting on some special parts from @NullBlox to pull it all together! Going to look 10x better!!

@Haeroboards This deck is SO FLEXY!! Medium flex, 125lbs and itā€™s a trampoline!!! How do adults ride this? Very high quality though!

Ground Control

New pinion coming on probably if Iā€™ve got the timeā€¦ Still waiting on STUPID GOD DAMN FEDEX!!! To ship my package from @yelnats8jā€¦ Those jerks!!!

KalyCat?

Iā€™m working on a Kaly 2.0 style build thanks to @topcloud @DerelictRobot and @BenjaminF Although itā€™s not for myself Iā€™m excited to work with some top notch components and have a little fun perfecting my gasket craft on this one!

Quick Ad For the Smokers of this forum and the cool merch guys!!

Use Code DASHSEIFFER for 10% off any order at 310z.io

This helps me out a little bit and afford these damn expensive PEVā€™sā€¦

310z was started by my lacrosse coach and itā€™s his side project currentlyā€¦ Would mean a lot to both of us if youā€™d check it out!!

AD OVER

With that note, anyone know of any graphic designers who could help me out make some stickers for my new company? Preferably on the cheaper sideā€¦ I donā€™t have much cash left, and unlike a good handful of the Esk8 guys out here who make content I donā€™t run a Patreon. Thatā€™s why I plug a couple of these posts with affiliate stuff.

Thanks for your time and have a great day yā€™all! Sorry for no photos, will push tons of photos tmw!!

You can limit top speed by setting ā€œmaximum duty cycleā€ to something less than the default 95%, and setting ā€œduty cycle current limit startā€ a tad below that.

example, limited:
Maximum Duty Cycle: 65%
Duty Cycle Current Limit Start: 58%

defaults:
Maximum Duty Cycle: 95%
Duty Cycle Current Limit Start: 85%

You could also use profiles instead. Whatever you do, donā€™t lower ā€œMaximum ERPMā€.

I think you somehow posted in the wrong thread :joy: :man_shrugging:

nope @Deeif asked if he had to limit speed at the event and how he could

haha, funny bc Brians answer matches one on one in another topic here :joy:
weird and confusing :joy:

Hmmm I accidently dropped ā€œmax duty cycleā€ instead of ā€œduty cycle current limit startā€ a long time ago and street faced on the first hard acceleration with a full motor lockup.

This was different behavior from when they were both set equal on FW 5.X. That made my motors oscillate at full throttle like they were fighting eachother.

Be careful.

Iā€™ve done this too, by mistake, but my motors just cut out, no lockup

So glad I got the stiff flex at 160lbs

Youā€™re gonna be a good guy to stick around with at PDX :dash:

Thanks Brian! Iā€™ll drop a bigger pinion in and then lower from thereā€¦

For sure, lockupā€™s and oscillating motors

Hahaha  Hoping I can make it out there!

Definitely could have just been a full cutout. Felt like a mighty hard brake.

Yow, go get a stiff one than if you plan to jump it. We mostly recommend using a stiff deck for e-application or jumping. But thatā€™s also up to preference. For example I am 185lbs and love my medium flex deck for jumping around  thatā€™s the reason why we offer different flex patterns :call_me_hand:
